I’m confused, isn’t the ACC champ guaranteed a spot?
They only dropped Iowa one spot for losing to Oregon. How many spots do you think they’ll drop OU and Texas for losing to Bama and UGA?Pitt beating ND this weekend would be huge. But I would be happy with OU and Texas losing, to start.
Fully believe everything ahead of us will take care of itself. The question is, will we take care of ourselves?

But we got 3 more weeks 2 six…There’s a non-zero chance 5 teams ahead of us lose this weekend.
Notre Dame (Pitt)
Texas (UGA)
Oklahoma (Bama)
BYU (TCU)
Utah (Baylor)
No. They have to be ranked, I believe.
Yea they are but since technically we are the highest ranked team and still alive for the ACC champ, we are in it as the "mock" acc champ
They are just going on their rankings. Only thing you need to really know is that they are saying one ACC team is getting in. They believe Miami is currently the best team in ACC, they aren't necessarily looking at who has the best chance of winning the conference. If the 5 conference champs automatically get in how are they saying Miami gets in but the ACC champ wouldn’t.
I didn’t understand that..
But they said something about Miami getting in even though they might not even play in the ACCGWe're just a placeholder as the highest ranked ACC team. The ACC is so screwy that without a declared conference champion they have to put us in now despite our odds of actually winning the conference being very low.
They’ll move them up for quality SEC losses. They only dropped Iowa one spot for losing to Oregon. How many spots do you think they’ll drop OU and Texas for losing to Bama and UGA?
They very well may. They struggled against BC who is god awful this year until like 3/4 way through the 3rdThe interesting thing about Notre Dame is 5 games on their schedule are either against us or teams we've both played.
-Miami beat them head to head
-They beat NC State 36-7
-They play Pitt
-They play Syracuse
-They play Stanford
The committee could absolutely justify getting them in over us by using the scores of these games as a comparison. Miami needs to soundly beat NC State for a multitude of reasons, but certainly because ND torched them. It's honestly why Mario should have kept the starters in for the end of the Syracuse game. 38-3 looks way different. Conversely, if Notre Dame struggles with one of these teams for some reason I think that'll be huge.
Learned last year that deserve has nothing to do with this. I'm not making any proclamations, but UM still has a pulse. Let's see where we are in three weeks.
let's hope Pitt takes care of ND.If we beat NC State and Va Tech
I am going to be a mess heading into the Pitt game. An absolute mess
