Oh, I meant that as a massive positive. We could, not likely but could, be looking at a top 10 ranking next week if things swing our way and we take care of business.
 
I think the Committee is saying what many have been saying…

Miami has a freaking good team the PROBLEM is showing it every week…

There’s absolutely no one better than us talent-wise in ACC or a few teams ahead of us…

They’re basically forcing UM to play up to our talent the next three weeks…
 
Can people stop claiming that the ACC (or any conference) is guaranteed a spot? No conference is guaranteed a spot.

Also, they put every highest ranked team as that conference's champion. Not just us.

Gotta love Rece asking about the perception of the ACC by the committee.

Committee supposedly looked at their individual efforts/results, including OOC games. Miami has the only good win......
That's what kills the conference every year.

specifically the offense.

Need to come out of the gate this week on offense. It is KILLING them

No. The 5 highest conference champs are guaranteed spots. 99 times out of 100, that will be the four P4 leagues, and one G5. But the ACC specifically is not guaranteed a spot.

However, all that’s happening here is since Miami is the highest rated ACC team, they’d be in if the season ended today. You’d have to think we’d get jumped by the ACC champ if we don’t make that game and, say, a 10-2 GT goes to Charlotte and wins. This is misleading. I mean, it’s correct if the seedings were final. But we will almost certainly not be the highest ranked ACC team if we don’t win the league. Whoever does will be. Probably.

This tells me if we can win our next three games convincingly and Vandy, Utah, BYU, etc struggles we could jump them. That doomsday scenario of a P4 league not making it because the ACC **** the bed scheduling probably helps us more than any team in the rankings. JMU and USF getting in and no ACC teams would be doomsday for the CFP.

But again no matter what we are ranked and what the other ACC teams are ranked isn’t the conf.champs guaranteed to be in?

And for the 7 ACC teams who can still make the conference championship game; we’re all about to clash with each other soon.

Pitt v GT
Duke v UVA
SMU v UL
Pitt v UM

I’m now less worried about us making it if we handle business as I am more intrigued if another ACC team gets in.

GT winning out then losing in the ACC championship game would make it dicey but not definitive to knock us out as in that scenario GT would’ve beat UGA.

I see more of the upside to get 3 than the chance of the conference getting 0.

Like it or not they know we bring in eyeballs which leads to $$$

What sells more, Utah/Vandy against UGA or Miami v UGA with the Beck drama or Miami v Oregon with the Mario factor

They rightully started us at 18 but if we win out and look competent they'll find a way to put us over a 2 loss Utah, Vandy, 1 loss BYU team

They are practically begging us to make it imo. No reason we shouldn’t be 13 come next Tuesday. If we can finally wake up and roll NCST I could see us passing Vandy. Saturday’s ACC upsets basically gave us a get out of jail free card. Just don’t **** it up.
