And so it begins…..CFP rankings chat

Yes. Absolutely. Three weeks ago we looked like the most complete team in the country to alot of people who know football.

We're still that team. The only difference is Beck had a bad game against Louisville and officials f#cked us against Smu.

Did Alabama look like a team that belongs in the playoff when they were losing in the 4th to Scar?

Did Georgia look like a team that belongs in the playoff when they were losing in the 4th to uF?

Outside of *osu and Indiana there isn't another team in the country who looks unbeatable.
I disagree. That team from three weeks ago is long gone simply because opposing teams have figured us out, specifically the offense. Will/can our coaches adjust?

I didn't watch Georgia but watched Bama and they just had an uncharacteristic game. They gifted USCe points turning the ball over twice in their territory; Bama is top 5 in turnover percentage. They couldn't have executed the drive, plus the 2pt conversion, to tie it up any better. So yes, they look like a team that belongs in the playoffs.

It's not about being beatable or unbeatable but about looking the part of a playoff team. We have the defense for it though you'd like to see them make more plays on the ball. I have very little hope that our offense will be able to hang in the playoffs.

Translation- prove to us you can finish for the first time in two decades.

I could be wrong, but I don’t see how the committee looks at a 10-2 Miami team coming off four straight wins and says no. They want us in and it will be very hard to defend us not making it.

The 4-0 part is what I’m worried about.
Which is pathetic because we'll likely be favored in all 4 of the games by at least a TD if not double digits.

He has nothing to lose, at this point. There is nothing to be gained by more of the same, which will get him 2-2 at best. His only chance would be to reverse course, and allow his coordinators to completely go for it, total aggression, and accidentally win the remaining games. I doubt he sees it that way.

You're free to believe what you want to believe. We didn't lose to Smu's defense.

I agree with this

No need to just brush it away with more “OH WE WILL LOSE” but gut feeling for me if we do win out and look good doing it we will be in

People say there’s a bias against us id argue it’s the opposite

It's time to put up or shut up.

I think it is entirely possible that this ranking was more metrics based. Louisvilles metrics aren't very good.

Mario literally doesn't comprehend that one of the STATED METRICS the committe is using is quite literally Game Control. How badly you woop your opponents *** is quite literally a metric that the Committee uses to rank you. Oregon has no wins that are worth a **** but rank highly even with 1 loss BECAUSE they win by a lot. They only have 1 win with a 1score margin.

Great week all things considered. Worst case scenario is if OU, UTexas, BYU, Utah and Vandy all win out.

A Georgia tech win against UGA would be nice. If USC & Michigan both win out, everything gets pretty crazy quickly

Acc champion automatically makes the playoff i believe.

Nope. The 5 highest ranked conference champions do. The assumption is always that would be the 4 Power 4 champs and the highest ranked G5. But the language does NOT say that. It just says highest 5 conference champs. If that’s SEC, B1G, Big 12, Sun Belt and American, welp, sucks to suck, ACC.

Would be hilarious if the ACC eats itself the next month and a 10-3 ACC Champ misses the playoff

Miami has to win out and win acc title at 11-2. That probably gives us the best chance at making playoffs. I just dont want to play ohio st the 1st round.
