I'd like Manny to add Tom Herman and Randy Shannon to staff as analyst. Good experienced minds to help with prep and gameday operations. Both still under contract from old gigs so we shouldn't have to break the bank for them and we only need them 1 season until they get better jobs.

Who would y'all like to add?

No way to Shannon. That's about the same suggestion as people suggesting we hire a new head coach and Manny would go back to being DC.

Why don't you add Marty Schottenheimer to list?

I'm not sure what Herman would actually bring to the table. In my mind his claim to fame is working with the QBs at OSU and, maybe, revising Urban's offense to deal with injuries at that position to get them a national championship. I don't think of him as an innovative or exceptional O, D, or special teams guy

Incredible these pie-in-the-sky suggestions.

This is as comical as someone suggesting months back that Miami make a run at UCF athletic director Danny White—as if he'd take a step backwards to work for at Miami (which has always been a joke of a job for AD's, or at best a stepping stone for guys like Hocutt and Eichorst.)

White held out and landed the Tennessee gig—as he was only taking a bigger job after Central Florida, not smaller.

Tom Herman is a Big 12 guy who did some time in the Big Ten. IF he was going anywhere as an analyst, it would be to a more premier program than Miami—with deeper pockets.

As for Randy Shannon, who ever said he wanted to be an analyst? Still under contract at UCF as a defensive coordinator and if Malzahn doesn't retain him—he'll land another coaching gig.

I don't think we can pull a Herman type as an analyst YET....but I'll say this....CMD has made a good rep in coaching circles on how treats ppl...so now that he has some real experienced high level coaches flanking him, 1 question to ask before the Herman's of the world come to be analysts at UM.....can he execute? Best coaching staff we'd had since Butch days, team littered with veteran players from 3rd year and 4th year guys to even a couple 5th year and 6th year guys.

We talk about it all the time but this season CMD has to hit 10 as the floor. I'm not one to rave about how terrible the schedule is and all that because it doesn't matter....count Bama as an L isn't all that ridiculous but then we got 11 games plus a possible ACCCG plus a bowl game to get 10 wins....10-4 is the bottom line this year.....idc who the losses are against, doesn't matter (minus FSU lol). Also think if we're going to get Clemson this would be the year with a new starting QB albeit an extremely talented one.

Again all of that to say that we can have who we want if we prove that when WE FINALLY DO get good coaches who have been around the block, we can win with them. Just like with recruits, win and they will come. Simple as that.

If I told you in October that T-Rob would be our DB coach, and Bob Shoop would come here to be an analyst, you'd probably call that a "pie-in-the-sky" prediction.
