The correlation between recruiting class rankings and on-field performance is well proven and documented.

Anyone scoffing at this is either a homer, a Richt Relative, or a chick fan who thinks we can sign a bunch of 2 star recruits and they’ll all be Ed Reed.
 
Everybody with a brain knows that Richt sucks in all facets of coaching. He's a Jesus loving, tie-free Al Golden with the same number of championships. It's not revelatory that he sucks at recruiting. Commitments have been dropping like flies for months.
 
His nephew, a top QB recruit said f that tecmo bowl playbook I'm going to LSU. Richt is a certified loser 😂😂

There's only one team in the top 10 playoff rabjing that has not had a class in the top 50 in the past five years.

You keep moving the goal posts. Nobody ever said that recruiting rankings and on field performance don't correlate. Its doesn't guarantee you success 100% (ask FSU and all their 5* recruits who look like 2* like Levonta Taylor and Cam Akers) but Bama is **** sure proving that if you have a team full of 5* guys and coach them up you will be in the hunt every year.

You said he wasn't a good recruiter. I challenged that by saying we had an elite class last year by anyones standards and that we don't know what is going to happen with this cycle yet unless you stole Docs delerean and traveled to the future and came back to fill us in. We are in the thick of things for a lot of key guys. He closes with the key ones and we can call this class a success. Time will tell.

Now is he missing on some things? Yes. People point to OL recruiting. Well ****, at some point Hillary and Herbert need to step up especially Herbert. He was no slouch coming out of AH. He wasn't elite but most assumed he would be a starter by next year. That is in doubt which is either on him or Searles.

QB recruiting has been horrid and its the reason we went 7-5 with the best defense he will ever have here. Our WRs are not developing and I don't know why because I thought Dugans was the **** at one point. RBs are A+. TEs are A+. And the entire D is good to go. We just need guys to develop and step up especially at DT and S... Time for Gurvan Hall to show why Saban flew a helicopter to see him in HS. Time for Jon Ford to break out of his shell.

Recruiting hasn't been perfect at all but this is no where near the Golden years or the back half of the Shannon years.

Some advice, don't poke your dumbass opinion in somewhere and try to advise when you are completely incorrect, and are arguing in the face of statistically backed up correlations.

Its ok to start using the otherside of your brain sometimes, so statistically correlate and back up why our defense was as dominant as it was this year. Please explain the difference between the stars, and when their play doesnt match the nerd star ranking is it the players fault!

The star gazers and recruiting site worshipers, i dont understand why yall watch college football, pretty soon you guys will be petitioning the nc2a to start awarding the national championship trophy on feb 7th! And its ok to say you cant explain it, you're not going fail this blog course by doing so, just know that you are failing tho!

You don't measure recruiting based on two recruits. You measure recruiting based on classes as a whole.

Here's a recruiting story about richt. Years ago, around 2009, I was entering high school as a kicker. And the guy I trained with and knew real well was Pat O'donnell (btw that dude was born to kick a football). Well I attended a session at Palm Beach Central where richt was out there looking at pat up close and from what I heard he thought pat was too inconsistent and didn't really recruit him.
