Amari Carter Hit Observation

To me watching it again. It looks like the WR had already lost control of the ball before the hit.

Still love the hit and love the way he plays. True enforcer.
Yeah the CB got a hand in the rack it out..by the letter of the rules it was a right call once I saw the highlight at home..but Carter made the correct Abd good play..terrible that they want defenders to make these nano second decisions while playing film speed putting their own selves in bad positions ,safety is the hardest position to play rn

It was a great play and bs call. Worst thing to ever happen to college football is targeting. Should never get suspended and ejected.

Happened right in front of me. The hit was as clean as possible, led with the shoulder into the chest and turned away. Yea the helmets hit but not the crown and the WR lowered his head. It certainly was not as much contact as last week when VT got theirs overturned on review.

With that being said, that WR was not the same after that hit. Yea Carter got ejected but dudes didn’t have that same energy over the middle afterwards.
I agree. He looked pretty rocked and dazed on the ground(watching on tv)

Miami gets judged differently in those situations regardless. Still remember two plays that were worse on our qbs 1 when Uf defender hit Jarren in his head that wasn’t called and then when va tech defender hit Perry last week that was picked up. It’s bs

Amari Carter did everything right on that play. He turned to get his head out of the hit and lead with his shoulder. Unfortunately the WR ducked down and lead with his head. It's dumb how that's a targeting penalty on the safety when the WR is at fault.

Love the aggression and that he saved our *** there. It wasn't dirty, but by the letter of the law it was targeting. Yes, he tried to turn the shoulder and the WR came down, but it happens fast so hits like that are inevitable.

So the WR is coming down and he's trying to turn the shoulder....what in the living F are you supposed to do on that play? I thought it should have been overturned, but of course our "targeting" NEVER is.

You have to make that hit.

There was noone going deep in the other side of the field. He should've read that and broken on the ball sooner. Woulda picked it off

The call was dam near expected. What I dont get is you been ejected kid, now GTFO the field, why are you causing another penalty when everyone knows you are to leave the field. WTF.. And Manny standing there just watching like he is a fan, get someone to get the kid the **** out, the game is in the balance and this dude is holding up the game like he is gonna just chill.

If he hits him in the knees and breaks his legs off, the BS announcers would be the first to say it was a dirty hit. Anything short of waving him by and blowing him a kiss would have been targeting on that play. And he ain't doing that.

That was a great play because Bandy was there but the throw was perfect. Perfect hit but yeah, they're gonna call that every time.

Nobody came into the game to replace him and I think the refs are suppose to come up to him and tell him to leave, which didn’t happen. He was right in front of me and was holding his hands out as if to say “who’s replacing me?” He said something to the ref who in turn threw the flag for him still being in the game.

They really need to adjust the rule to where if a WR lowers his head or lowers the strike zone and the DB isn’t maliciously launching to the head then it should be no foul.

Terrible call on Amari. He led with his shoulder.
The zebras missed two facemask Calls. One on them, one on us.
Officiating sucks, and makes you wonder when these calls are reviewed, what are they looking at, or for.?....
We never have a good call, but they pile on the penalties just because we are the U, on any close play, to benefit out opponents.

I really don’t understand the targeting rule. Last week, a Va. Tech player hit Perry helmet-to-helmet when he was already wrapped up and defenseless — not only did they not call targeting, but they actually reversed their initial call. I don’t get it.

WTF is targeting?

There was nothing he could have done other than what he did except elect not to impact him. At the same time, I understand the call. He lit that dude the fvck up and their receivers were in their heads the rest of the game after that. Plus it saved a TD.
