Knew exactly what were running?

In my time watching football not sure I’ve ever seen anything like it.

I’m trying not to do the loser **** and blame cheating.. but they literally knew what seem like every play we called.

I made a comment in the game thread that we should stop sending plays into the headset.. wonder if there were adjustments made at half to send in plays.

And before anyone else says it.. Yes.. Dawson and the blocking didn’t do us a whole lot of favors either.

Nah we set the tendencies week 1 and then didn’t come off them until after the Stanford game but then went right back to them last night. Where were all those calls that he pulled out in the second half?

Surprised they were stunting into the A gap? No. Sitting on your couch, you knew we'd run there.

Surprised our oline couldn't move them? Yes. Undersized dline moving laterally and you can't move them? Almost like we didn't practice how we'd handle their stunting.

Heck, it didn't surprise me that it took dawson until halftime to adjust. That's been him all year. Dawson's flaws seem to be in video study and game planning. He often seems to mix up his notes and has his "what not to do" sheet get mixed in with his "do this" stuff.

But why did it take an entire half of football to stop giving them 8 yard outs. It took an entire half to finally come up and play press.

Im pretty sure they prepared all week to stop our duo and inside sone runs. They were shooting the gaps

I wish we ran more rpos ourself

The knew we didn’t have a deep threat and would come out conservative. Played into their hands in 1H. There was nowhere to throw vs that zone.

We finally took some shots in 2H and things opened up. Ran to the edge, which (per last week’s broadcast) Oregon had identified as a place where Indiana could be had.

All year we were a team that played better with the lead. Can impose our will. Give you a heavy dose of fletcher. Keep it away from Beck (he had happy feet and looked uncomfortable a lot of the night).

They had a good game plan. We adjusted. Just ran out of time.

Gameplan was just extremely vanilla and predictable. I knew Dawson wouldnt pull out trick plays after they've failed all playoffs but there wasnt anything unique (except 3 yard Fletch TD run play in 2nd half) to throw IU off. We wanted to bro ball and they knew we wanted to bro ball. Dawson really needs to find a Brohm-like analyst or two to assist with gameplanning, it's a clear weakness without a dynamic QB like Cam that can just make **** happen.

Separately but related - lack of a true TE passing catching threat and deep ball threat (both Beck's arm and lack of deep speed WR) hindered the offense all year including this game.
