Already excited about next year

The playoff system allows one to rejoice in great playoff victories without getting too down if your team loses in the finals. We had the toughest road and still made it to Hard Rock. It's like the great feeling of making the final 4 in Bball.
This has been one of my favorite teams not only for their accomplishments but for the caliber of guys they were. It has been an amazing year. We finished second in the country and the future is bright .

Yeah Im optimistic about the future but reaching the finals is **** hard. It could be a while to make it back
 
I just hope the team core can rebound like they did in 88 coming off the fiesta bowl

If we can survive that Vinny T catastrophe I believe we can again, that look Mario had at the end said a lot he doesn’t wanna want a pat on the back for this year

I think the hardest part is knowing that we are unlikely to return to this game for at least a while. History says that (see Kirby at UGA for example). Doing what we did on this playoff run is really really really really hard.

I do think we’ll get back there again eventually. Just might not be for another 3 or 4 years.

Agreed it’s tough to get to a national championship these days. But I don’t need that to enjoy a season. I had a great time watching us win the cotton bowl. Which in any other era would have been the last game of the season anyway.

If we finally win this **** ACC next year, that would be plenty of good Saturdays for me. Maybe we don’t get back here next year, but I look forward to the year we win all the games we are supposed to win. And I’d love to do a proper beat down on all of our regular season opponents next year.

I think cignetti has proven that anything is within a 2 year reach in this new landscape. Because you can flip an entire roster and staff in that time. Not that we’d even need to.

One of the unfortunate ramifications of this result is that challenging OOC games are going to rapidly become extinct. There is zero incentive to play them.

I mean Indiana went undefeated in part because they only played G5s and an FCS OOC in the regular season

I don’t want to play against cig again tbh. He will just cry to the refs when we play physical and the broadcasters will jerk him off.
I honestly hope Ohio taint reclaims the big ten, and keeps that fanbase and team of old men out of the spotlight. I have far more respect for the cuckeyes at least developing NFL talent instead of shopping for grown men. And they did not seem to cry to officials when getting bullied up front
 
I get it I do but if you're being honest with yourself it's incredibly hard to do what we just did and one of the main reasons we did it was what we had at dline was so **** good like best in the last 5 years good when it comes to dline. When it's done right up front it makes everyone else look good. The defense will take a pretty big step back next year losing Bane, Mesidor, Blay, Scott, Thomas. I am excited to see some fresh blood at LB we have been so weak there for years idk why we can't just hit on recruiting here. MO was by far my favorite lb of late. Gotta love Wes though gave this university everything he had. Going to be a lot of new faces let's see if this trip to the natty sets a new standard of work and preparation for those who are staying. Now let's hope now that we are the only teams that can be poached for the portal that we aren't portaled to death haha
 
Maybe it’s because I’ve been lurking CIS since Richt was hired when I saw the announcement from Pete on Twitter. But I have patience. We played a team that wanted it more. Our talent couldn’t overcome incredible coaching this year.

Mario built this off of 5-7

We have great freshman and sophmore with a couple key juniors hopefully back. Mario got his best ol class since being here. It could take 2-3 years, sure. We are here to stay. He is a recruiter, he has to turn it up a notch. But now he has Ward 10 wins and Bain 13 wins to sell.

How is that not exciting with any long term perspective. Bain was great. I love him as a fan. We didn’t die after Sapp left. Phillips, Greg R lol Mario recruits. We are the U. You think he’s gonna let up now? It was a 8.5 o/u season!
 
Super excited! We are losing strength in the trenches but we are replacing it with speed ! I think if this team can dedicate themselves to th weight room this offseason next season we can take off! They are no dominant teams in college football right now ! It’s our for the thing if we can put in the work and buy in
