Alonzo will not be joining the Miami Administration

In case you guys can't read between the lines, Manny & Mangina James are playing Hot potato with this decision because they both know their jobs are on the line & neither one wants to be responsible for bringing in Alonzo which would be the marker of the start of a regime change.

They're going to fck this up because Miami has no accountability at the top, Blake James calls all the shots in this program, he hired Manny, but now he's pawning off hiring Alonzo who would essentially take over as Football Czar onto Manny as if it's the Coaches decision.

Like I said in the Cristobal thread, no one worth half their weight in salt would/should want anything to do with this program. Mario would literally need to have his head examined if he left Oregon to come back down to this clown show.
How does anyone believe that Manure is going to play a role in hiring a guy as football czar who can fire Manure? Do you guys seriously believe that?

If Manure has any say in this hire at all, then common sense should tell anyone that the hire is a sham. It’s just a guy to help Manure like an Ice Harris type off field Liaison to the Lisper.

Exactly. They must’ve actually had less sense than I thought and tasked him with running it, which is against his career/control interests so he sabotaged it in my opinion. That’s my guess.
Hey, Fake and Manure, go hire a guy and give him the ability to fire you!

Yep. That sounds legit.

Again, what is actually happening is not what the fans want to happen. Fans hear Fairy Spermbag talk about hiring Alonzo as Football GM in charge of running football. UM is actually looking for a Liaison to the Lisper to be Manure’s assistant.

What we want, and what they’re looking for are two completely different things.

Of course I don't believe that, that's why I said they're playing Hot potato, because it's really Blake's decision but he's trying to pawn it off on Manny as if it's contingent on him okaying it.

What HC would sign off on a guy who's going to oversee his every decision & veto power over his moves or even have the option to fire him?

Manny doesn't want it because he knows Alonzo would fire him in no time, Blake doesn't want it either because any immediate improvement or success Zo would have would result in the BOT looking at Zo as a potential replacement for Mangina.

The whole thing is a cluster**** by two guys who are trying to justify their failure & give off the impression to their superiors that they're doing something to keep up the appearance that they're not complete dolts to the board of trustees.

It's classic Miami shít! look like you're working instead of actually working so that the people who write your checks don't have to work either.

It’s a classic George Castanza with the NY Yankees move

What we want and keep describing ad nauseam amounts to a new and competent AD.

The only thing that might keep James job short term is hiring highsmith. Manny knows his seat is hot that’s why he is pushing back on the Highsmith hire.
Which is really ******* stupid. If you know your seat is hot, why not accept that experienced help???

What a ******* ball-less loser. I hope Fake Blames and Mandy gets Marshall'ed. Lol j/k

(Not really kidding)

There's no barrier with contracts anymore. If Miami is really considering making this happen it will be announced tonight (atleast in principle).

100% this. Anyone who’s ever worked in any white collar profession can easily see this is all about the politics of the situation.

Is Alonzo really all that close to being an NFL GM? He’s Dorsey’s buddy with the Browns, and Dorsey is probably on the verge of getting fired. I’m not sure how in demand Alonzo is as an NFL GM.

Good question. I'd venture to say he's as qualified as most of these other analytics nerds that are getting the GM title with much less experience. But maybe it's a longer road for traditional GM career paths like his?

The worst case scenario is very likely happening.
Someone high up wants Highsmith.
Highsmith wants actual authority.
James wants to appear to be doing something.
Manny wants a yes man reporting to him.
Manny wins this political battle and Highsmith stays away.

the only reason this is happening is because key members of the BOT are close friends with Diaz Sr. I am certain that he’s working in the background to help his son

I don't agree with you on Mario but this is exactly what is ongoing and it is a real sad state of affairs for us.

I never had any respect for Blake James and he was on his last life anyways.

I've now lost all respect for Manny Diaz who rather try to save his own *** as opposed to truly bring Miami back to greatness.

There's really nothing to agree with, my whole point on Mario is that he would be stupid to come back to Miami because he's at a clearly better situation, therefore there's no real incentive for him to leave because Mario's not stupid.

Looking at this situation as it stands, what sane Coach would walk away from a good situation to volunteer for this circus?

Just use logic & you'll understand exactly where I'm coming from lol.

This.

Lol at the dopes on here who questioned Zo's ability to run this joke of a program. Even if he doesn't get a GM job, this shows you how highly respected he is. Cowherd just had a guest on who was raving over him, but I didn't catch the name of the guest and couldn't place the voice.

I really thought this had a chance to happen. We took his son on scholarship - where, to his credit, he proceeded to earn meaningful snaps on his own - when there's no way Jr. gets an offer here if he isn't a legacy. Zo was already loyal before that. That man is all Cane. I think he was truly interested in helping right the ship.

Zo was our most realistic chance to turn the program around, to TRULY change the culture (although I concede that the Browns culture is a joke, as well). Now we have another year of Manny and Blake. This was a major ****up by the BOT.

@Mackmiller974 You should be banned permanently for being such a "look at me" poster that you felt the need to start a new thread to post information that was already posted in the existing thread on this topic. People like you are the worst.

You're nuts. This is a separate meaningful twist. It more than warranted its own thread. Likewise the nyststeofmind thread with the info that Highsmith had been fired by the Browns.

Kudos to the staff for leaving those two new threads as standalone.

I'm not wading through some marathon thread.

I don’t disagree, but Richt knew way more than Blake James when it comes to running a CFB program. Richt spearheaded the IPF.

If Blake James can do it with Richt, why can’t he bring in another or more competent football people

Difference is, Blake was still the boss. Hiring someone to oversee football only, would indicate he’s not capable of doing so.

Blake has patted himself on the back for a lot, including the IPF, in which he forgets CMR spearheaded this and it was a condition of him being hired, as you mentioned. Maybe after the IPF funds were raised, this **** started feeling himself & fooling himself in to thinking he’s that AD. Remember he said after Richt “we’re playing w the big boys now.” **** is delusional af
