Alonzo Deal is Dead

for those wanting regime change this may be the best possible news that could have happened. Now they put their cards on the table so another bad year and Blake and Manny will be gone.

if the BOT doesnt change their ways, it doesnt matter who the AD or HC are. weve had three diff ADs since Dee and all have been miserable mistakes (including Dee). blame the people that put them in charge. personally, i hope manny figures it out bc i wanna win and can put aside my displeasure for him and this whole year if he wins. if he doesnt win and blaek and manny are gone, youll have another cheap AD hire making the decisions

See the problem with y'all just assuming we will fail is we again have an incredibly easy schedule. What is considered failure to out BOT? Is 9 wins and no ACC championship failure? Do you guys honestly think these 2 - Blake and Diaz would be fired after 8 or 9 wins? I personally don't. I definitely don't think that it's a success, but they will argue it is improvement and that the 3rd year will be the year they actually win...

I really don't see how they get fired unless they only win like 6 or 7 games again. But only winning that little is legit hard to do with our schedule. Sure they did it this yr, but doing it two years in a row is hard. Especially when we're practically guaranteed to have a better offense.

Chances are we are going to have another failure of a season, but it'll be like 8 or 9 wins, and because of that these guys will get another season

Sad part is flake and Manny don't understand is we need a good talent evaluator now.Manny could ve learned a lot from Zo.still don't think it's over if what the bots have said is true.

my question is whether Zo will stick around for the next recruiting cycle even if hired. all it takes is one NFL team to offer him a job. ****, some teams are waiting till the draft to hire a GM

Seriously, whoever the anonymous BOT member was that wanted to pay Zo's salary for 2 years should fund that money to hire athletic trainers, nutritionists, academic support staff, etc.

Of course man ......Alonzo still has that job in Cleveland....my perditions “if” Manny Diaz fail this season coming .............both Blake James and Manny Diaz will be FIRED and then will seek to call Alonzo Highsmith back for the AD .job if available ...

regarding money, if youre hiring Zo to be your Ad, there are better candidates in that theyre lifelong ADs with a proven track record of success that would cost way less (depending on what ZO is or was seeking). example -- danny white from UCF. if you want an AD, i say slash the whole Zo thing unless its like a consultant role and go hire Danny White

I'm a big fan of the Danny White idea.

I mean, this year's schedule was complete trash, too, which included Willie Taggart's, "just go away" party. I know Wagner isn't the juggernaut that FIU is, but on paper there's the same amount of winnable games. If there aren't major fundamental changes and tangible differences in the way we do things, then there won't be much better results, at all.

out of curiosity, say we win win 10 or 11 next year bc the new O is a hit, you would still want manny gone? i dont think **** hit 11 anyways so **** be fired and blake shouldnt have an AD job but the BOT loves him so here we are with him.

I would slightly reevaluate but would think it's an outlier. He would need to have at least two more seasons of 10 wins or more to admit I was wrong. None of this: 6, 11, 7,9, 7,8,9,6,7, etc. when we are in a crappy conference and the easier side of that conference with a borderline lame out of conference schedule to boot.

If he gets to 10, 11,10 in next three years you would have something. But this 9-10 wins one year with a 4 year extension only to average 7-8 wins afterwards is a joke.

Dead? ****, it was never alive. That was Posturing at Best.

When your "6 -7 Head Coach that lost to GT, FIU, Duke and Lat Tech" has Veto Power, YOU ARE IN TROUBLE...SERIOUS TROUBLE!

well i agree on the extension part, but winning 10-11 twice would be something no other coach here did since 03. crazy

But the problem is there are going to be major changes on offense.
I don't think anyone is really questioning if the offense will be better. I think we all expect it to be. How many more wins will that lead to?

The problem right now imo is deeper than wins and losses. And that's what needs to be corrected starting with firing Blake James. But if we win 8 or 9 games - which really shouldn't be very difficult - will we make a change? I personally doubt it.

As bad as we were this year only winning the number of games we did is honestly crazy af. A bad coach can still win 8 or 9 games for us next year, thats the point I'm making. I'm not saying Diaz is too good to only win 6 games, just that it isn't the most likely outcome.

Blake and Diaz will now decide their fate. Fine. Whatever.

If (some may say "when) we fail again next year, Blake better be the first person fired so the new AD can hire the new coach.
You could argue that Manny should get second year -- why should he be punished because some idiot hired him. Blake on the other hand has proven he is all he can be and the all is pure dogsh##. He needs to go right now. Give Highsmith the AD job if you want then he can fire Manny next year after has searched for a replacement who will win at Miami.

It's a crapshoot to say the offense will be better, we're all making assumptions. We're assuming that one of QBs will see the light and grasp this new offense, or, we'll portal ourselves someone who can.

Here's what we know: CMU, GT, FIU, and Duke were were all bad football teams Miami should have beaten, and I'm not even factoring in LT and UNC that were highly suspect. We lost to all of these teams save for CMU which was **** close.

To me, those losses are bigger than a system and an OC. Miami should be able to beat those teams regardless of pro style, spread or spread coast systems. So likewise, I don't think our schedule or changing on coach means much. If we are still the program we saw this season, we'll be a .500 team again.

Okay then say for example Diaz gets extremely lucky and wins 8 or 9 games. Then what? I think if we hit 9 wins, Diaz is guaranteed another season.
