Alonzo Deal is Dead

Sorry. I'm not buying the idea that if Blake and Manny have another "bad" year (whatever that means, to whomever gets to evaluate what it means) they're gone.

They will be. There are powerful ppl who wanted Zo here. Blake basically spit in their face and said we don’t need your outside interference. If he and Manny fail now there won’t be anyone to back them.

That there is no reason to believe Blake will ever be fired.

He will likely be fired next year if the football team does not look like an organized and well run program.

Blake ****ed off some seriously heavy hitters so far this offseason.

It took these heavy hitters so long to see an insanely incompetent simp running athletics? Amazing.

So, Alonzo telling it like it is.....

From the Herald article this morning:

Highsmith had spoken with Miami athletic director Blake James and football coach Manny Diaz about a more modest chief of staff role. But the responsibilities and salary were below someone of Highsmith’s experience. He began working in the NFL in 1999 as a scout for the Green Bay Packers before rising in the ranks, and has always kept his finger on the pulse of Miami Hurricanes football.

In the end, Highsmith indicated, it was the Miami Board of Trustees members who wanted him more than the current staff, as Diaz likely didn’t want someone looking over his shoulder on day-to-day issues.

“There never was really a lot of talk other than trustees wanted me,’’ Highsmith told the Herald.

So James and Diaz don't want help? Probably shouldn't be surprised that ****roaches do ****roach things when exposed to sunlight.

Manny and his staff are toxic and suspect. Theres too much distrust locally right now.

More importantly, they suck at recruiting. He didnt even really get a first year bump, and if you consider 18th a bump, then that doesnt bode very well for the future.
Currently with a better recruit average than Oregon who just won the Rose Bowl. Are these guys all ace recruiters? Of course not. But the biggest recruiting bag Miami has ever had to use was winning, something they're routinely failed at. Win games. get elite kids. It isn't rocket science. They won't outbag UGA or Bama, but enough of the elites will stay home to make Miami elite, but Miami is still losing to FIU, Duke, and La Tech even with better talent, so why would an elite kid come here right now? That's why they're not getting the recruiting bump.

LOL....sooooo......Our program is ran by a bunch of weirdo punks

Shannon went 5-7 his first season and then pulled the top class.

Diaz sucks at recruiting. He’s a nerdie pretender and kids see through it.

Should have fired Blake - still should.

Fire Blake, and hire a good AD. A good AD would welcome the assistance of someone like Highsmith in an overwatch position of the football team.

Manny and Blake just objecting to their incompetence being FULLY exposed.

They've already dropped their trousers - in front of all College Football. And nothing there.

You mean it was dumb to create a position because two dipchits sucked at their jobs and rather than address the real issue, we choose to invent a position. But this UM, who is better at hiring the unemployable but us.

Instead of dealing with the issue; firing Blake and bringing in a competent AD with passion and autonomy, the best idea is too waste more resources and time!

Wasn’t oppose to the idea. The biggest issue we’ve faced is creating continuity in the program. In a traditional sense, it starts with your AD and then trickles down their Coaches. Hopefully the coach does well and stays for a long time. But we haven’t had that. Our AD bolted and left us with Blake and we haven’t been able to find a coach to win enough games to keep them around to build that program.

As you can see with LSU and OSU they had that continuity in place to make seem less transitions from coach to coach. Yes year one was a struggle for coach O but the overall infrastructure of the program never changed.

Heck look at Wisconsin they changed coaches and actually got better. Hiring a guy that wasn’t even really a big name. But they know who they are and what type of program they have and stuck in that mold.

We’ve had 4 coaches in the last 15 years they all tried to come in and build something different. And we’ve had an AD so clueless he’d let them.

Our program has an identity crisis. Under Shannon He wanted a watered down U. Golden tried to Make us Penn State south, Richt wanted to make us UGA and Manny wants us to be some fake Miami Vice.

Having a guy like Zo in theory would be the constant to create a recreate the Foundation and identity in the program like we use to have, speed, aggression, passion etc. so that as the faces change the standard and the program itself stay the same.

Comparing recruiting today to what it was 12-13 years ago is misguided. There's no way Randy could pull that type of class in today's environment. Also, it's fair to say many of those kids were overrated by the services and they've gotten better over time at those evaluations as well.

Man, the avg recruiting ranking is face saving ****. Our class is worse than Oregons. Period.

But using Oregon as an example, it kinda proves my point. Their class, despite winning the Rose Bowl, is worse than Marios second class.

It's not only about winning. It's about consistency, trust, and excitement.

Manny has a loooooooong way to go to get those things.

I think UF would be a better example to use for the point you're trying to make.

The point I'm making is that Miami, same as Florida, same as Florida State, could go 0-12 and there would still be talent in the recruiting class based on the proximity to the Florida HS talent pool. In that scenario, it would obviously only be a few kids, but there would always be kids who no matter what the state of the program is, would want to be at Miami.

The point I'm making is everyone's a great recruiter when you win games. Miami hasn't won games, so nobody has been a great recruiter here. If they did win 10 games consistently, everyone on staff would suddenly look to be a better recruiter than they've been. Winning games isn't everything, obviously, but it's where you start.

This news is outstanding. Only way this could remotely work is if Zo was overseeing Manny, leaving Blake out of the football program. In the end, we need an entirely new AD. I don't want Zo coming in and somehow doing a good enough job to keep Blake around. Both Manny and BJ should be fired. They're both doubling down on their incompetence and this *should* be the last season they're both here.

UM, Blake James and Manure Diaz will rue the day they got between us and one of our cane hero’s Alonzo Highsmith. All **** and fury will be rained down on blake and manure this coming season by us fans that will make the toxicity of goldens last season look like a bed time story. I’m flying a banner game one all on my own and I would expect banners to fly every game. This university has finally crossed the line with us fans! Fvck UM and let it burn!
I support this fatwa

How much would you like to bet TVD starts this year? Manny and Blake are gonna use this kid to get an extra year if sht goes south. TVD looks like a good prospect, but he's gonna have some growing pains. The excuse is gonna be we started a true freshman QB and we lost some games we shouldn't have. Next year when he knows the system better and the team is a year older were gonna win big...….That's the blueprint, now get your popcorn and watch the shtshow unfold.
He’s going to need to put up numbers like Sam Howell and Dillon Gabriel did to justify it

Looks like the insiders not named D$ were posting fake shxt about the Zo deal.

Motion for D$ and @Andrew to ban every fake insider.

Insiders. LOL

Actually this is fantastic news if true. The Blake and Manny show will be done after next year and a real AD, and hopefully HC, will be hired. Theres no need to create a new position to help a HC and AD who are both unqualified for their current roles.
