Alonzo calls out the admin

Enough of this Butch Davis talk he is just as much to blame for the decline of Miami as Coker is. If he never had left then Coker never would have been in over his head and started the decline of this program.

There were several players he looked right in the face (ie Bryant McKinney) talked them into staying and then he bolted for the CASH !!!

So yawl can sing the praises of THIS GUY all you want but the BOT and Admins will never forget how he bolted and lied .. We have been in utter decline as a program ever since .. Yes he was a decent game day coach, SUPERIOR talent evaluator, and if your honest at the forefront of the decline of our program.

Meat me somewhere btich. I'll Butch Davis the fvck outta your punk ***.

not sure if posted but Jesse Marks posted an infographic (of course) of how much UM put towards athletics. apparently theyre pitching in 350M towards the sun life renovations.

Go back to the basketball board u are clueless. It has already been discussed in the "who is the admin trying to fool" thread. Miami IS NOT pitching in towards it, but are taking credit for it, which is why they are getting slammed on it.

BS excuse IMO. Quite tired of hearing it honestly.

None of that **** matters on Saturdays when we still have more talent. We didn't lose to Louisville, Pitt, GT and Virginia because they have better facilities than us.

We're signing quality recruiting classes. Are you telling me they're not reaching their potential because of the field they're practicing on, or the dumbells they're lifting, or their locker rooms?

GTFOH!

Exactly what I said when this thread was started by someone else yesterday.

The admin can suck, but that doesn't excuse the HC from sucking. Alonzo likes Folden, so his comments are disingenuous.

He's pointing to Oklahoma and Texas A&M as examples of programs spending zillions to make sure their coaches have lavender essential oils in their bidet water. Unfortunately, all those big screen TVs and accoutrements didn't stop either of those teams from eating **** this season.

You can spend all the money in the world, but if your HC is a stumble bum you're going to suck. Alabama had just as much money and just as passionate a fan base when Stoola and Dumbose were corching there as they do with Saban. What's the difference?

this. thank you for being an intelligent poster. Bama was terrible until Saban and nothing changed in terms of money. Florida didnt stop putting money into their program during the Zook and Muschamp years, they just had terrible HCs. OU has all this money and they still lost 4 games this year.

This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read.

Your logic is that it's Butch's fault that the program went downhill because he took and NFL job. I guess we should blame Jimmy Johnson for leaving and causing the hire of Dennis Erickson when the program went downhill too.

I've got a novel idea. Maybe the admin should have made a quality hire to replace Butch instead of going the safe route with Coker. That's how continuity works. You blaming Butch just makes you a scorned baby.

The only people responsible for the forefront decline of the program are the admin, Coker, Shannon, Shapiro, the NCAA, and now Golden.

On top of that, you're pathetic attempts to pass the buck to the kids from Golden just makes you a blatant Slurper. It's his responsibility to get the kids up to play Virginia and Pittsburgh after a tough loss to FSU. And the talent is all over the place on the roster and the D-Line failures are due to bad evaluations, Golden's fault, and bad development, still Golden's fault.

Your excuse making is pathetic and I know you just tried to come off as the gruff guy giving the kids a good kick in the pants to get them to play harder but in reality you're just a Golden Fanboy who's doing every song and dance you can to make it seem like Golden can't be to blame when you and him are just giant frauds.

Just curious do you think the heat is getting to the administration? Are they acting any different? The fact someone from miami had to defend any notions that it doesnt invest in the football program means something IMO

They are uncomfortable. Alonzo calling them out was shocking and they didn't like it. They're also not psyched about The U Part 2 because of the light it will potentially paint the school in.

For the first time in the team's decline, the admin is getting the focus over the coach and company. This was unexpected and there's a sense of urgency and scrambling because boosters, season tickets, and investments are supposed to plummet.

Bottom line, people are worried and the heat is felt for the first time.

Those cheap, complacent, program-sabotaging pricks have no idea how bad this is going to get. This is just the beginning and they have no one to blame but themselves for all of this backlash, from signing Golden to a ridiculous extension with a ludicrous buyout after a 6-6 season to refusing to admit their mistake by firing him now.

Miami football is dead, so all we have left is to watch the world burn. The more uncomfortable they feel for finally having their feet held to the fire, the better.

I hate to say it but if this is what it takes for change then so be it.

Yup. They're willing to throw away next season, the '15 and '16 recruiting classes, and half of Brad Kaaya's college career. They're willing to intensify the toxicity surrounding the program from fans, former players, alums, etc. And that's just to try to save a few million dollars by waiting to fire Golden until after next season rather than right now, failing to realize how much revenue they'll lose in 2015 by keeping him. It makes zero sense from a business perspective and there are obviously no football reasons to keep him here.

The administration deserves every bit of **** they catch for this, IMO.

lol thanks for the insult but i simply posted what was posted on twitter. didnt offer an opinion about it at all. Ive been critical of the admin concerning the football side esp after they did not fire golden or make any sort of changes since the Pitt game. trying to insult someone for posting what was posted by the admin doesn't make u smarter than anyone else. the admin needs to put in more into the football program and they need to buy out the HC ASAP. we've won with subpar facilities in the past and it was because of player development and coaching. we need to fix the coaching side of things first.

ALSO: i said not sure if posted before i wrote it. i dont have time to sit here and go through a million threads trying to find a posted tweet.

There's prolly some truth to this. I said this along time ago back when Coker was the coach. The school is trying to parlay the football teams success I to making this school an academic power. Smh. Dumb as ***.

The problem is that we could have Alabama's ******* facilities and still be 6-6 because we refuse to make any ******* changes on the coaching front. Facilities could always get better but they're being used as a crutch by some. And I respect the **** out of High.

They should be raising money to pluck a competent AD and a president that knows to leave athletics the **** alone.

Everything else - coaching hires, fundraising, facility upgrades - will come as a result of that. They have no power structure and lack capable leadership.

Alonzo is right to a point, but what both U documentaries reveal is that it he is also wrong to a point. The U has always been fighting some governing body. Be it the ncaa, their own admin, the city, the rest of the friggin country, **** sometimes even their own fans. None of that has mattered when we got the right coach. The right coach plus being in the most talent rich area in the entire countries equals wins. We have already proven we can win without all that other stuff. We can't do it without the right coach. Al Golden is not the right coach.

And coaching change is one of if not the cheapest change to make

But that's the rub. A top notch coach these days costs 4 mil minimum. Top coordinators and some assistant coaches will run you another mil+. Miam was gonna pay Butch 1.5 before he bounced. You could get away with paying that 15 years ago, but not know. The economics have passed Miami by.

A winning U football team would make that back and then some with merchandising alone.

'zactly. bless Ol Zo's heart but a slush fund isn't going to solve the issues here, unless the money is used toward the buyout. The fish rots from the head down.

Funny how most here complain about our facilities, but as soon as someone gets a plan together to actually improve them, all you are saying its not good enough, and it'll only be useful if he did it to fire Golden.
The school has the money to fire Golden, they just arent doing it. Raising $3-5M is pointless, and just lets the school off the hook. Imo, they need to understand the consequences of not hiring a good coach, and actually investing in coaching. If this fund gets us an IPF and other needed facilities, hopefully ut'll also get the admin to take their heads out of their *** and free up some money for coaching.

I am all about improving the facilities but let's not kid ourselves, the facilities are not the reason we are losing. Coaching & players development is the reason. That is where we have failed in the past 10 years. You can't tell me a team like Louisville has signed a better signing class than us in the past 10 years but they still are able to manhandle us.

Mr. Highsmith coaching and player development are the main contributor to the downfall of this program.
