All Eyes On Mario

I’m ok with that, an issue with it is he has been said to be getting the resources needed to be successful… which are those A + B + C = Success

There’s been a huge commitment made, and it’s ongoing, which is why we can ***** all we want, he’s here for a while. How long? I guess it all depends. All I can do is wish him success.

With the way you can add talent these days via the portal, there's no reason it should take years to make some massive improvement. That's if you've got the staff and the bank account to do it.

As for an ACC winning roster or beyond and being in contention yearly, that can take a bit longer. We've gotta show life and with the way the roster has been flipped, you need to win some now. Sure, there's still some holes, but 8 wins should be the floor. Anything else and you got it wrong again.

I’m probably in the extreme minority here, but I would be happy consistently fielding 9+ win teams and maybe making a run in the CFP once every 3 years or so. Winning a Natty these days is reserved for the .5% of college football and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I don’t know if any coach can bring Miami back to winning championships considering the severe lack of parity in CFB right now. I’m hoping NIL and the portal can make the 2nd tier programs good enough to compete with the 1st tier programs because right now, anyone not named Georgia, Alabama and maybe Ohio State has practically 0 chance of winning a National Championship.

If 2nd/3rd tier programs like Miami, Texas, USC, Wisconsin, and Penn State can use NIL and the portal at the expense of lower tier P5/G5 programs to fill holes and add depth, it could bring back parity and excitement in college football. Depth is often overlooked when we talk about championship caliber teams. Alabama ran through everyone in 2020 despite COVID-19 affecting rosters because they had so much depth at every position. Clemson ran out of gas once they reached the CFP that year, getting blasted by an Ohio State team who only played 5 games before their semifinal matchup. Programs like FAU, FIU, and USF take depth away from schools like Miami. Imagine if TY Hilton and Alfred Morris played at Miami. These lesser programs hardly existed when Miami was winning Championships.

I've said for a long *** time now that it'll never be like it once was for us. Best I hope for is a run or two every decade or so when everything comes together. I also hate all of this realignment stuff as all it's doing is making the distance from the top to bottom even further. There's a lot of schools that were good in their conference but created discussion nationally. Now they'll just be middle of the pack in the upcoming super conferences. Just chum for the big dogs to chew up and steal the best players away from.

I think NIL and the portal can make things more top heavy or potentially add more championship caliber teams in the mix in what could be a for more exciting playoff. If Miami joining the BIG or SEC can at least set us farther apart from FAU and FIU, I am 100% in favor of realignment.

Kids quit in almost every game in 2022. Some of those were Mario guys. 2023 will be more Mario guys. The “Mario inherited a mess” talking point is going to be hard to argue in 2023. It’s his team now.

You mean the bunch of guys carried off the field and the other injured who could walk off the field on their own...GOTCHA

Manny went 7-5 with those players in 2021 against a much tougher schedule. Mario did far worse months later. Not really praising Manny, nor did I want him around here long term, but people are exaggerating some of his shortcomings here as a way to excuse Mario’s failures in 2022. While yes, some positions were certainly lacking talent (linebackers especially) and you can fault Manny for that. From a record standpoint, he didn’t do any worse than Al Golden or Randy Shannon, but people here speak as if he eradicated the entire program with his poisonous culture and detrimental turnover prop. A lot of us forget Manny was hired in desperation after Richt abruptly retired due to health issues. My expectations for Manny were low considering the dude had 0 experience being a Head Coach anywhere. In the **** Miami Coach Power Rankings, I’d put him above Golden and probably tied with Randy. He’ll probably get another shot at a G5 program as long as he keeps doing well at PSU.

Lemme guess you place manny diaz as the best ever huh?

I mentioned this a few times. Injuries are part of the game, but it seems like we get more than our fair share. What's his role in that?

Last year was pretty bad.

As for seeming to get more than our fair share, that's always going to be the case. This is our team so we're sure to know about every injury, other teams, not so much.

Strength and Conditioning plays a key role in injury prevention. Overtraining or poor implementation of a strength program can hinder results. It was a problem with Mario and Mustache man at Oregon and it’s something to keep an eye on here.

Question, why is Miami one of the most injury riddled teams in CFB? Not sure if the guy with the goofy mustache is doing his job, just saying.

Who was Manny's strength coach? Cause ALL of Manny's guys were getting pushed around like paper weight. Of course you wouldnt know that because the national media wouldn't cover 2 seconds of Manny's Canes.
