Now can we finally flip Treon? He aint a qb but boys a playa.

Yup, just give the kid a shot, what's the worst that will happen? He either proves the staff wrong or is proven wrong and will want to get on the field one way or another at another position.

The worst that could happen would be a QB controversy where Ice thinks Treon should start but Olsen/Kaaya are better and he calls WQAM or Herald reporters to talk about it, like he did with the Thomas/Kirkland situation. There is a very real risk associated with taking Treon because there's factual evidence that he handles things in this manner when he feels slighted.

I agree. That is my only issue with giving Treon a shot. There will be yelling and screaming if he doesn't start. Ice, Selio and probably Luke jumping back in. I would love to have Treon but risk is just to high that there will be problems. Chocolate wants to be qb also. Better to give him a shot with understanding he switches to another position.

Best of luck to Alin. He got screwed by Mario. Can't bring in OC and not let him recruit the QBs he wants. If Mario stayed, he could have pushed for Alin with some clout but he dumped him. Good luck kid.

I will admit when I was wrong, and I am starting to think I was wrong on Treon. His height still concerns me. And, ultimately, his ceiling (and NFL prospects) is probably higher at another position. But I think he's a good enough QB prospect to offer at that position. No clue whether he'd consider switching.

On a side note, Mario is doing a great job with that Alabama O-Line, they looked great yesterday.... PRTZZZZZ, I root for your failure Mr. Cristobal

Yup, and Saban is not one to tolerate that for long. If Mario doesn't pull a few South Florida studs and/or get that O-line up to snuff, he could be shown the door next year. That would make my year. I wish nothing but professional misery on that turncoat.

This is all speculation... We have had kids come from BTW to the U and were rotational players... Worst case Treon transfers... One instance where both sides mishandled the situation doesn't mean it would be a trend... You give the kid a shot... If he is beat out for the job then he either switch positions or transfers... I can understand the concept of not offering Treon if we were an exclusively pro-style offense but that isn't the case... Right now Treon may run Coley's offense better than any of our prospects... And if we opt to become exclusively pro-style than it'll take some time for the other prospects such as Kaaya and Rosier to grasps the offense as well... Give the kid a shot... We have 4 players from BTW committed to the U... Theres no issue regarding them...

I'm going to be honest... That VT defense is a lot better than many people realize... I believe Bama had some young players on the oline as well... It was quite the test... In all honesty, I never felt that Cristobal was a good positional coach but I dont think VT is a game to measure them by... I wouldnt be surprised if VT posts a top 15 defense this year...

As far as QB's go I would rather take Flowers than Treon. I like Treon though. **** I like Edouard a lot more than Rosier.

in a perfect world flowers at safety treon at cb. but i like flowers play making just dont think he will play for a while here

We moved on from him months ago, I guess his secretary is just getting him his messages.

I'd take flowers over Harris if we had a choice... Bring in kaaya with him redshirt flowers hopefully flowers realizes his meal ticket is a playmaking safety/corner and he gets 4yrs at it and we bring another QB next class

In a perfect world of course

I see he finally took the hint.

He's a good QB, though. He'll preform well wherever he goes and this will lead to 65 threads a day about why we dropped him, even while Kaaya or Olsen are playing well for us.

No idea he was still committed...good riddance

i dont get the fans that rip this kid. He is not a commitment because he has been shunned by the staff, not the other way around. Pretty sure he would be a Cane if he had his way. I kind of feel bad for the kid and wish him nothing but the best

Agreed. I felt the same about Edouard but with Kaaya and Olsen in the mix I like the idea of taking an athlete/QB as a bit of a project, especially a beast from our area.

I'll be interested to see where he ends up. Using my favorite metric, the marketplace, by NLoI day we'll know exactly what the rest of college football thinks of Alin Edouard as a prospect.
