Alex Leatherwood coming back for senior season at Bama

Nah kid got bagged......his slot could be from 10-20. Isn't every slot capped differently on rookie contracts? Bama can outbid that range

Bosa held out and said he can make more at OSU. These kids stay cause they want to make money not win.

Not to mention, with the schools that can bag up in the first place....your likely to win even if it isn't your top priority.

There's something else to this that actually could affect Miami. I never thought anyone else could do it, but they could make a run at 6+ first round picks depending on who returns.

Leatherwood & Moses have already said they're returning. Tua announces on Monday. Thats like spotting them 3 first round picks next year if Tua comes back. Then there's Jedrick Willis, Ruggs, Jeudy & Devonta Smith. All 4 have had been in the 1st round of recent mock drafts but haven't said anything yet. Some mock drafts have Najee Harris as a fringe first round pick. If he comes back, he would probably have a good chance too. Diggs and Lewis sat out the bowl game but still haven't declared. And I dont even know which of their draft eligibile sophomores are getting 1st round buzz for next year. But they could actually tie or break the record.

There is an underground financial network going on here. There has to be a some sort of hedge fund that these schools are tapping into.
I know people say that that will be too much of a paper trail. But there is. O other way this o s happening. Not even an agent is risking that much money for a player to stay one more year when they can get 10 percent of a first round contract ina few months. No one is carrying millions of dollars in cash and dropping it off to these families. This reeks of Wall Street money or off shore banking money. This is beyond obvious this point. But then again it’s been beyond obvious yet dudes in here still getting into arguments about bags not being real or not the “main reason” we don’t get or keep kids.
Getting a ring at bama will do nothing to a projected first rounder. Too much risk for a status quo on the reward one year from now.

NFL agents can only make a max of 3% of a players contract.

They can make 10-20% of endorsement deals.

Perhaps Pete can set up a few satellite branches for FRM and pluck players from other teams as well.

Too many players at other programs doing this. This isn’t an accident. This isn’t a character or integrity issue. If one player does it here and there then ok. But multiple players for multiple teams doing this is suspect AF. Also the teams that this happens to are the teams where the bags flow like water.
We aren’t talking chump change. These guys are leaving and risking millions of dollars.
Think about it this way. Leatherwood was on the field and saw Tua screaming and then getting airlifted to a hospital and maybe having his career come to an end or cut short. Yet he and others on his team are staying.
Other teams give steroids, bags, and incentives to day one pics to stay and we can’t even break off undraftable dudes for a year.
I guarantee you it’s way more expensive to keep leatherwood on the team than bandy and Jeff Thomas. No way we come back like this.
Sht like this is the nail in the coffin. We are not on the same playing field. Not even in the same galaxy.
We can’t pay them enough to come here and not pay them enough to stay.

So when our players were doing it, it was b/c of school pride; but when other players are doing it, it's b/c of pay? Ya'll gotta come off the orange and green bull chit.

Just like all of the 2000 guys came back to finish what they started, Bama players are doing the same thing. Are bags involved? Of course, but why would you or anyone else turn down and risk 10's of millions of dollars just to take home, what? $100k?

As I mentionded before, kids who are winning tend to like school....I was around the SC program and those dudes thoroughly enjoyed beating opponents, and if Matt could've come back for a 5th year to avenge the loss against UT, he would've. I talked to former players here and they enjoyed being The U. Kids are leaving here b/c they don't like it here, period. I've said that for years now.

The money is a lot different now Rell both to stay and and a day one pick.

So my g, u saying Bama is paying NFL money to guys who already signed on a dotted line to play for their program? Leatherwood is making so much money from boosters, that's he's willing to forgoe that multi-million dollar signing bonus?

Projected 1st round pick.

While we have guys like Garvin declaring.

Ed Reed and Bryant McKinnie came back in 2001 to win at title—which Bama will be in the hunt for next year.

Shaq Quarterman and Mike Pickney came back for their senior years this year and we're part of a 6-7 season, doing nothing to up their stock.

Jon Garvin should've returned. Trajan Bandy, too. Still has nothing to do with Alex Leatherwood sticking around Tuscaloosa another year.

You've come a long way as a poster, nysom.

Last year at this time your thread would have been about this guy's last name. If we can get this kind of year over year improvement from Manny Diaz then we just might compete for the Coastal Division next season.
So the mods enjoy the homoerotic shtick too? Everything is starting to make a little more sense now.

These boys are def getting a little bump to come back. That **** is not worth foregoing being a first round pick though. That’s terrible business.
