Heard that boy AC is playing against JV comp and that he's not on Duke's level... Did his team atleast make the playoffs? So is he the real deal? Pete tell me something, b/c Im hearing that Cook is the best running back in Dade.

Cook is EASILY the best RB in Dade county.

Collins' team played 8A, but not one of the tougher districts in South Florida. They lost to an average Miramar team 3-0 in the first round of the playoffs.
I wrote a recap of that game somewhere, but I can't find it right now.

*lobs to CIS crew to hook it up with Collins' stats from that game*

Cook cant help us next year. Collins can.

So how about we get both and Sony.

Sony and Collins are Broward players so I dont get the RB in Dade comment from the OP

Duke Johnson. You mean Florida's Mr. Football for 2011 Duke Johnson? ACC Rookie of the Year for 2012 Duke Johnson?

Because you'll have to search long and hard to find a running back on his level.

That doesn't mean you don't want a beastly athlete like Alex Collins splitting carries with him however.

Alex Collins is not the best RB because he did not play RB in Dade.

Sorry, but the best freshman RB in University of Miami history gets my vote over a high school player.

When Alex Collins first committed to UM, I asked a buddy who is highly knowledgeable about HS football (he played and coached at STA and played D1 football in college and has followed HS football closely for years) what his thoughts were on Alex. His exact words were "he is the best high school RB I've ever seen." That is good enough for me.

We desperately need to get this kid back

The jack GiF would be perfect here. Welcome

Also Collins played 8a. Highest class in FL. He didnt play JV, LOL...

Class 8A, doesn't mean it's the highest class in the Florida in terms of football competition level, it only means that that high school is ranked amongst school with the highest student population. For example, South Plantation (Alex Collins' school) is 8A, while Northwestern and Central are 5A or 6A. Athletically, clearly Northwestern, Brooker T Washington Central are higher quality schools, but they have smaller student population, hence their "smaller" 5a or 6a Divsion.

Alex Collions, played garbage teams like Hallandale, Western, etc... JV competition. Dalvin Cook, plays the best of the best... Norland, Booker T, Northwestern, Columbus, etc.

Underrated comment, something our fans have difficult time grasping.

That's pretty strong, but again, who has Alex Collins played against?

He is my favorite recruit for this year's class (and maybe even next year), but it does begged us to question, who has Alex Collins played against. Delvin Cook scored over 200 all purpose yards in the state championship last year— as a sophomore and on the biggest stage.

What has Alex Collins done against the best schools?

Can someone post this? I would like to see Alex Collins' stats against real schools... i.e. Miramar, Saint Thomas, etc?

That is irrelevant to what LexCane posted.

The point is many "fans" look forward to 2014, 2015 etc but have yet to realize those kids CANNOT help in the current year/season. So when it comes to Miami' season in 2013, only kids in the 2013 class (or prior) can help us that year.

I am excited for 2014 kids as well but we need Collins in this class for a different reason.

Alex Collins is either the best or 2nd best overall prospect in FL this year. We desperately need another RB. You do the math.

All I know is that Alex Collins would be option 1B at UM. He is clearly better than Clements and Crawford. He is bigger and faster and quite frankly his size is something the Canes need at the position. Whoever said we don't need him and wait for 2014 for Cook and Sony is thinking to narrow. Injuries happen all the time to RB's and I cringe thinking about Duke going down in 2013 and all we would have is Clements and Crawford...

We need Collins!

Alex Collins had a terrible OL and zero help as far as skill position players who could help diversify South Plantation's offense. While I'm not taking anything away from Dalvin Cook, he had much better players around him than Alex Collins had.

While there are a lot of great football players in Plantation, they are not only split between Plantation High and South Plantation High, but also between STA, University School and American Heritage.

I have no time for 2014 kids.

Lock up the ones we need for 2013. I'm not looking two years ahead. I'm thinking right now.
