Alarming quote from Ferman in his Wedn. Update

RVA - I hear you. I too have done the same and boy has it saved my **** on many occasions. Having people smarter than you while also empowered is a relieving thing. Zo would be the start of getting to that possibility - the next would be hiring a great HC, providing him the tools to do his job, then staying out of the way.
Yup. And where they aren’t more knowledgeable than me in the subject matter, such as with hiring a greener young person, I look for people with similar values but who are strong where I am either weak and/or have less interest but the work is still needed.

Do you realize that if Manure is being consulted on this Chief of Staff hire that that means the Chief will have no real power? It’s a useless sham position if it reports to or works under Fake and Manure.
I never denied it. Some ducks will choose concession to save face. I thought ***** might go that route..

How many days is it going to take for most of you to realize this. Manny and James don’t want someone telling them what to do. They want a sidekick. We will end up with some random guy helping Manny organize and blah blah blah. Time to move on from your dreams of Zo coming in and running the football program

Hate to say it.... but yeah....

Ha. He's probably accurate in his assumption of what's going on, but I can't believe how many people are running with the information. He takes what he assumes makes the most sense and will create a stir and packages it for the masses. Don't even blame him. It's an effective method, obviously. How many times does it have to be proven many of these folks have extremely weak (second or third hand), if non-existent, sources?

I dont know if you're simply voicing ur take or if it's your opinion. So I'll ask do you feel anyone that TRULY has a voice in football, that knows his craft, that gets paid serious bread should be okay with simply being a sounding board to a bunch of simpletons? Cause only way any real football person will come here as anything but an ad or a head coach is if he has POWER over them to run shop how he sees fit. Would you be okay with flake and mandy being your boss essentially if you were zo?

Yeah. I'm speculating that they reached out to Zo about coming back in some beta-cheerleading-yes-man role, and he countered that he would need to be in a decision making capacity over the football program and Manny pushed back.

None of this gets solved until the BOT and president get fully on board with fixing this mess of a program and to me that looks like a strategic plan with phases, goals, a budget, and competent football people. That should take priority over the OC hire and should have been in place years ago, but certainly launched at the end of the season.

You don’t let the inmates run the asylum. If the President and BOT are doing what’s in the best interests of the program they step in and stop the bleeding and then put measures in place to build it back up properly.

But apparently they aren't at the moment. What you are saying is ideal and things are less than ideal. But again, I don't see it as this zero sum situation. There are still varying degrees of outcomes that can still be a net benefit to the program at least in the short term. Let's see what happens.

It’s pretty bad. Pete left and they never filled the “insider” vacancy. As a result, we have people starting threads off of what Gru Ferman and DBC are saying and people are eating it up bc they’re desperate for information. Then you’ve got people who essentially are trying to run guys like Brooklyn off the board - a guy who can provide some insight and perspective.

CIS needs that Ivins-type guy to help stem this shît.

pete convinced his one source to leave school early so he could get a job. I wouldn’t call that being an “insider.”

You’ve summed it up perfectly. Pete left a gigantic void, and it’s unfortunately been filled by trolls and morons posting Spermbag clickbait and **** from some poor mentally challenged ******* with Aspergers.

So we still got Jobe in the bag? Or was that part of the void.

That's not stefansson fault. Even mike said they agreed to part ways. Than later that same night manny called and said let's reevaluate that in a week or two. Two dbs are saying they were told Mike's leaving also but now it doesnt seem it. Just more clown show.

And moron fans think a OC is going to fix this stupidity and incompetent program? ******* idiots..

We keep blaming Diaz and James but it goes back to being symptoms of a larger problem. Why doesn't Frenk step in and say he wants a football director? Why doesn't the BOT give James an ultimatum? It's one of 2 reasons (or might be both)
1. They don't care about football
2. Mayor Diaz Sr has powerful friends who are protecting his son.

#1. Manny was hired because Blake is crap and made a flippant decision when he believed that Diaz, JR--the guy he e envisioned as a HC one day-- was really going to stick with Temple over UM at anytime, be it 6 hours, 6 days or 6 weeks. He was allowed to skip a true search because the powers that be give him that authority even though he was known to be hands off with coaches, and had just let Richt crash and burn.

I know we're all searching for the big reason we got our dycks in a blender again, but people keep overstating Diaz, Sr. as someone the powerbrokers give a **** about or owe a favor (s), when it's actually the other way around.

So with Diaz claiming that part of the reason that they team went under .500 is that the team culture has to change, it made me wonder. Have you ever seen a HC who was a coordinator for the previous HC, ever blame his predecessor for the team's failures? I cant remember ever seeing it. Maybe because its stupid to claim that the team is filled with guys with the wrong mental makeup when half the team was his responsibility.
