Alabama's Ty Simpson signs paperwork to officially enter 2026 NFL Draft

Another day, another name off the quarterback list for Miami...

Ty Simpson, the starting quarterback from Alabama, who made the choice to declare for the draft last week, is officially submitting his paperwork for the NFL Draft, as reported by BamaOnline.

Ty Simpson is now officially heading to the NFL. So, where will Miami turn next?

In fact, Simpson received several offers worth over 7 figures from Power Four teams, including a whopping $6.5 million from one school, according to various reports. AL.com’s Nick Kelly was the first to report these offers. He declined them and is now officially entering his name into the Draft.

Now, after yesterday's news that Sam Leavitt has gone to LSU and Alabama's quarterback Ty Simpson is officially entering the draft, Miami will need to search for someone else in the portal, or should the Hurricanes stick with their current quarterback roster room?

I’m not sure, but we’ll have to wait and see.
NO!

Of course not

But the reality is we are 99% ****ed
I’m sure we can find some good back up on someone else’s team who can bring in completion . Lot of good back up QBs who are good waiting to play . Some are prob better than the starters but we know how things seem to work in college . Seniors get the nod

He can still withdraw prior to the deadline to remove yourself from the draft.

This one is over when the deadline comes for -
+ Spring enrollment at Miami (01/21)
+ Draft withdrawal deadline (02/07)

Obviously waiting until February means that he’s not participating in Spring practice.

It is WILD to me that we didnt have a QB jump on early or come knocking down our doors as the portal opened. We are going to have another **** good OL and RB room next year, they saw us put Cam 1/1 and if they assumed it was a flash in the pan we are doing the same with Beck (not 1/1 but for sure raised his stock), we are in the NC game, we pay out the *** for players, and yet still couldnt lock someone down the first week of the portal.

We obviously wanted Leavitt, gone to LSU, wanted Sorsby, gone to TTU, probably were not interested in Mestemaker (OSU) and Lagway (Baylor), seemed we were lukewarm on Raiola (Oregon)

But of the uncommitted portal players left...

Husan Longstreet
Ethan Grunkmeyer (100% CB to VT, Penn State transfer following Franklin)
Jake Merklinger (TN transfer, low 3*)

Yet 20+ qbs have already found homes. Either our QB isnt in the portal yet or we have him on the roster.
Yeah, I don’t get that either.
