Alabama is opening its own ridiculous Sports & Nutrition Center on campus

I just don’t think this is something that tips the scales even a little bit.

Yes, it gives them a wow factor on a visit, like the carrera marble in the men’s room, but as long as the other schools being considered have good nutrition programs in nice areas, being over the top will only have primary appeal to low IQ retards.
And they already have Jobe.

I’ll be honest, I would’ve rode the **** out of a waterslide

Your comment made me think - random Q, and without being insulting - but is there a heirarchy to a football team? i.e. would a non-scholarship guy have to wait at the back of the queue for the waterslide (in this odd analogy)?

Don't know how they can afford this, they only had 174 million atheletic income last fiscal year.

I doubt kids give af about a waterslide, but this nutrition center will 100% help recruiting.

I don't disagree AT ALL it will help with recruiting.

And that's kind of the point. The wealth gap is increasing at an increasing rate. Before long it's going to be 8 football teams and no one else.

A gregarious as Bama's facility seems it is not an NCAA violation. This is approved by the NCAA. Miami has chefs and nutritionists for its athletes. All part of the room-and-board provided by the scholarship grant-in-aid.

Yeah, I know it's not. But there are definitely rules in the rulebook about special treatment received by student athletes that are not available to other students.

But hey, it's not like the NCAA is the most corrupt, hypocritical organization in sports.

Available for normal students?
No. This is part of the problem that arises from schools like bama that make athletes virtual icons. It creates a mental seperation from students. What do you think this makes your average students feel like? All schools cater meals. Thats basically all that is. I gotta say its a **** of alot better than what we eat. Only problem i have with it is taking kids out of the regular dining room. Only places they merge with students is class and bars. Class is minimal contact so you can only imagine how awkward contact will be ina personal setting.

Its not a matter of chefs(which we dont have on a daily basis either by the way). We get food catered in. Practice days is all fruit & smoothies & go gurts. What 100% would make this a violation is like the gentleman said its a miss alocation of public funds. They just built out a facility 100% created for no one but athletes. Cant sell that as a dining hall cause #1 they already have several & #2 no one but athletes can attend it. Facilities are supposed to be neutral unless its specified as part of the program in itself. No way you can sell this as anything but a perk.

Canes should add a 25,000 sq foot nightclub. Bottle service and 50 VIP booths, each booth with a pair of poles for the dancing ladies. Special section for coaches.

Beat that Bama!
Its a decent idea. What really stops us from being able to get creative with alot of stuff is #1 not having much space available. #2 and far more of an issue coaral gables has to approve ALL building permits. They dont like things being built throughout the gables like that.

Looks nicer than the snack areas of Saban car dealerships. Have to minimize the time recruits and players spend getting their cars
