Al Golden- Win Forever

Im a fan of coach, but he's really starting to rub me as a car salesman. In reality, he has not won anything yet he's held up like he has bc he has a better than average vocabulary. At a certain point he needs to win a championship or he's gonna seem like a blow hard.

that "car salesman" mentality more than likely landed kids like howard and bush. we know AG can talk the talk, and I really hope he starts walking the walk in year 3

Al went 6-6 last year under really crazy conditions. Sample size is way too small to say anything definitively other than he's made changes we all hope will lead us where we want to go. I think there are a lot of positives with our program, but also a few things I'd like to see changed - like our OL coach. I'm hoping that in spite of having lost a few key underclassmen that we can add a couple of victories this season and take a bigger step forward the year after.

****, guys this site really is grassy 2.0, its like grassy with mods.... LOL Guys, seriously take a chill pill. The problem is you have a deeper access to this team the we EVER had under RS. The guy has had one season plagued by injuries and suspensions. But he has already made some significant improvements in recruiting, toughness, competitiveness and basic organization. And for you geniuses ALL college coaches are car salesmen. How the **** do you talk kids from Miami into going up to OSU? Its not like there are a bunch of kids down there saying "man I wanna play in the snow!" No it is a coach telling them he can get them to the pros and he will treat them like royalty and they will get all the playing time blah blah blah! Hence the reason when RS had to actually recruit against another school he lost a majority of the time. What do you think building relationships with local coaches is? Its a friendship based on bull$hit!

The difference between a process and core values is a 300 page written plan! Not 'guys flying around' and hoping guys decide to push themselves in the weight room cause you dont make them do it. Its things like UTOUGH! or "Raising Canes" You guys think recruits dont watch that stuff? I would be willing to be they do. And it inspires them and it is something they want to be a part of. Watch deon bush's twitter or jelani hamilton they are always talking about working out! And they aint even on campus yet! That is core values! Do you wanna put in the work it TAKES?

But to sit here after one season and one spring and start making the he needs to win something or he has no credibility is just plain dumb. I think it is obvious that AG is recruiting a different kind of athlete. Patience guys, patience.

You're arguing with trolls and with racists who are ****ed that their boy got fired.

Nice cookie cutter answer jag off. There aren't any of the usual suspects being skeptical.

Agree. The Saban comparisons are ridiculous.

I know it's a ****** measuring sick... But we've been ******:

Did we get blown out last year? Once? I don't think so. When was the last time we didn't get ******* worked at least once?

every good recruiter does have some car salesman to him. Golden definitely is a great P.R. guy, has big time media savvy, and says the right things. Those are positives. Shouldn't be seen as negatives. Now if you want to switch it to him being more style than substance. well ultimately that's what he's going to show over the next few years.

Funny thread, proving once again that Miami fans are the worst of the worst in the country.

*****, moan, complain Hiroshima can't be rebuilt in a day, demand great recruits, expect Acc championships, national championships and never go to games.

6-6 WIN FOREVER!!!

Nick Saban went 7-6 his first year, and that was with a bowl game. And he is now one of the greatest in the game. So i don't understand your point

The only simularity between saban and golden are the losses in year one.

Sabans 6-6 reg season rec > Goldens 6-6 reg season.

If you look at teams played and teams lost too Saban destroys Golden. Saban > Golden and Golden isn't in the same galaxy to put it nicely.

After watching the spring game, I have a feeling that we won't be winning any time soon. 2 years before we are competitive.

We were competitive immediately. Golden had the team (a team that was done, absolutely bottomed out in 2010, with massive position and depth holes, gaping talent, strength and mentality issues, which was also subjected to a criminally low standard of coaching and development) in every game, and ONE f-ing play away from winning every one of them.

That same team quit on Shannon (multiple games where they quit within the first couple possessions ) for four years.

This was a team that had declined to the point that every opponent, from awful Maryland to BC, was not only light years more physical, but faster!

It will take some time, we won't even have a quarterback until 2013, if we are fortunate.

The team was way coached up.

Saban didn't take over a disaster at Bama (nor did Meyer, or these other successful coaches).

You just can't let a program that was already in steady decline (with Coker) languish for four years with a staff that didn't even know what the score was or the clock during games.

Stop the opponent on 4th and long ONCE per game, and we go 12-0 last year.

i remember a team that was weak in the trenches...**** doesnt change overnite.

i remember a team that quit and was not interested in games... that didnt happened last year

i remember a team that doesnt have true depth...**** doesnt change after 1 recruiting class

we had a team that should have folded last year after shapiro gate... that didnt happened last year

if we are serious about how "bad" shannon and coker left the program then lets be realistic about the time its going to take to get where we need to be.

I guess according to some on here you have to run before you walk after being paralyzed which we all would agree the program was.

Some of you don't even remember last season. The staff barely got together last spring; two weeks before the start of the season, the Shapiro scandal breaks out; a bunch of starters got themselves suspended .... on and on. The Shapiro scandal still hangs over our heads, still had a decent recruiting class...

Come on, give this staff a chance. After all the BS over the last 8 years, it is the least we can do.

Saban would have run for hills... if the Shapiro scandal had blindsided him ...

At Alabama, Saban has the benefit of being backed by the greatest cheating machine in the history of College sports. Between the boosters, the history, the SEC, and the good ol' boys that look the other way....

IMHO, when you talk about great college jobs, that's what they mean. Miami will never equal Alabama in that respect.

This program wasn't the disaster you pretend ot to be. In fact, Golden inherited better talent vs worse teams than what saban had to deal with.

lol at low standard of developent in 2010 when Miami had 10 all acc performers and led the acc in offense and second in defense.
gaping talent? mcshay says 9 guys may get drafted. lmao @ strength issues.

With saban coaching under the same circumstances miami wins atleast 9 games. saban wuldn't have coached scared like Miami did v maryland and limited he coching blunders that cost Miami an additional 3 games IMO.

+100000.....I couldn't agree more.
It is why we have one of the worst fanbases in college football.
Lots of expectations, very little support.

LULZ.....So does Saban beat Louisiana-Monroe if he is coaching UM "under the same circumstances"?
Your boy Shannon failed.
Let it go already.
