Al Golden - What Went Wrong?

The only real difference between Al and Mark.... Al had to face elite FSU teams. Mark had the worst FSU teams in decades.

Never seen the NCAA take so long to have little to no findings -- was black cloud on recruiting

Al was a car salesman and of course our D Coordinator
 
What went wrong was Doritos got soft and soggy too much cheese whiz. Then Al Golden went crazy with the McDonald’s cheese burgers. Sad story

Mark recruited better than Al, although to be fair Richt had far greater resources at his disposal and build on a recruiting foundation that Golden had built. Golden had to recruit his 2012 and 2013 classes under the specter of NCAA sanctions and a possible death penalty; Richt had no such worries.

Richt had one good class. One disaster and one so so class.
 
Biggest mistake with Golden was I think he thought the talent disparity between Temple and these teams we would play was minimal, therefore continuing with the belief his d scheme would work. Losing our best linebacker every year killed our d before the season started.
 
Golden and his staff were terrible. Other than Jedd Fisch has anyone been hired anywhere of note? Golden is a position coach in the NFL, and the remainder are is dogs!t.

Hopefully this is the end of a pointless thread.

The point was to see if there was any insider information on what other rot was in the regime, not to rehash the well known issues of the defensive scheme. The CanesInsight podcast re: Manny’s hiring made reference to everything be wrong under Golden. That sounded like matters far more extensive than just a bad scheme that Al never changed.

Just wanted to see what additional information was available to give background to that podcast claim.

I think Golden let the cloud B.S affect the team too much instead of working on taking it a game at at time... we had more talent than anyone we played most of the years he coached outside of those FSU teams that we still kept it close with...

Second I think Golden just didnt have that killer instinct that the Dabos, Saban's, or Urbans have... no doubt in my mind that either of those guys would have fired their best friend/best man at their weddings if their units performed as badly as Doritos did .

But honestly I think that first one did him in... it was like he was in a mind fook in the entire time and let that excuse snowball
 
Temple moved for a Power 6 Conference to the MAC. They won in the MAC with a Power 6 roster. Golden got credit.

He also did butt stuff with Shalala

Yall keep giving this excuse for Golden. He did not win the coastal out right. Mark Richt did. 7-1 in the ACC versus 5-3. You also skipped over our first bowl win since 2006.
