I was working in the JMH/UM hospital area today and came across a bunch of Canes coming to see JoJo today and I left fairly late and I looked to my left while sitting at the light at 12th ave and I see Al Golden walking around. I call him over since we know each other and his eyes were bloodshot red obviously from crying. We spoke about JoJo and he told me he just passed and that he needed to go get some fresh air and went for a walk. The emotion this man spoke with about JoJo and that every player is like a son to him was what a parent wants from a coach for their son.

We spoke for about 5 minutes and parted ways but I then thought about when Malcolm Lewis was injured and there is not a doubt in my mind that this man truly cares for each and everyone one of his players. Im happy to know this is the kind of man that is leading my team.

We are lucky to have him as HC. Hopes he starts winning big and stays around for 25 more years.

We give him a lot of **** as coach, and most of it rightfully so. But as a man he is one solid dude. I want to see him succeed just because he is a guy that shows just how **** much he cares for these kids as more than just football players.

Nice post. He gets grief as a coach fromus but there is no doubt he's several notches above everyone else as a person.

Not a lot of people, let alone college football coaches, care about the people around them as much as Al Golden does. Anyone who claims this is a publicity stunt on Golden's part should be IP banned.

RIP #29 and this is one of the many reasons why we all want AG to succeed here. The guy is a great person.

Does anyone have any sight to what happened with Hunter? Apparently he is in ICU.

RIP JoJo

Al Golden is a good man and a ****** coach

Nick Saban is a horrible human being and a great coach

Go figure

RIP young Jo Jo, its a shame that young man has past away and now a parent must burry a child, I can't imagine anything worse in life. To my fellow canes who are parents hug your children a little tighter today.

RIP Jo Jo!

Seeing him with JoJo's family during this whole thing really puts it into perspective. No matter what, Al seems to genuinely care for and connect with each of his players on a very personal level. I hope this year is the start of big things for him and this program. Not many other coaches deserve it more than he does.

Do it for JoJo.

R.I.P Jo Jo, you will always be a HURRICANE! Best wishes to Hunter for a full and speedy recovery. Special thanks to Al for the man he is and the way he represents the program. I'm sure his presence meant a lot to Jo-Jo' family and friends during a very difficult time. GO CANES....

I really do hope Golden is able to do great things with this program. Nothing worse than and head coach leading young, impressionable men, who is a ****** person and does nothing more than look out for himself and his own image. Golden clearly has the welfare of the young men he is responsible for in the forefront of his thoughts daily. Best of luck to him and the program.

R.I.P. #29...prayers for you and your family.

Whether you like him or dislike him on game day this man has done absolutely everything right off the field. I believe he is a leader of men and we will see that result on the field this season. RIP29 join the rest of the hurricane greats up there.
