Al Blades, Jr. feels bond with fellow DB commits

why not sign on the 20th? whats the point?

It’s an STA thing. They want their guys to sign on traditional signing day

Just curious and I know people try and stay true through the process... But is there anything legally binding? We always hear this school doesn't allow, or this school does this. Can the kid legally just say ***** you I'm signing this Wed or no? Thanks in advance Pete and always appreciate your info.

Even the high schools are in on the 'decision' because r they have a 'thing'?...I agree with Saban this early signing period is stupid, and I thought it would be a relief, or maybe I should just not follow the 'board'...maybe in a few years it will prove out...right now it's let's give more attention to the the attention whores and publicly to the high schools and 'their' signing day...really in the end only gonna help the IMG's of the world...BIness...

I like the early signing day. It let's you know who's in and allows you to focus your time and efforts down the stretch on certain players. Should work out great for us this year if those 17-18 kids sign this Wed and our stuff can focus on the likes of Surtain, Campbell, Samuel Jr, and more OL...

Sounds like you don't get much attention at home.

Dedicated! Hitting weighs at the hotel gym. In his first year in track last year ran a best of 50.3 at 400M... he should make the HS national elite time this year of 49.5.

I presume this is an old tradition at STA to give structure to this process, and they probably haven't had time to review and revise this policy to be in step with the new NCAA early signing period. Just a guess though.

Blades' journey reminds me a lot of Quincy Wilson and Tavarus McFadden.

Big, confident guys who dominated top competition in camp, and then got "overrated" buzz during their senior seasons. Both of those guys showed their talent when they got to the next level.

The number that stands out to me is 3.95. That's his verified shuttle time as a sophomore. He has the quickness, confidence, and length you want on an island.

Great comparisons.....I love this kids tenacity...

Saban sure put the full court press on Jobe to sign early. His whole argument was against coaches pressuring kids to sign only regret later. You are sincere in your point he isn't.

I like the early signing period for the kids too. Right now there are plenty of kids out there a school is prepared to drop if they land a bigger fish, but they aren't going to tell the kid that until late January...Now if you try to sign on the 20th and they don't let you, you know to start looking harder yourself

Al Blades Jr is a stud and everyone knows it.. This is a kid that will come in day 1 and bring that Canes attitude and make the player's around him want to play!! We all know the kid has talent, he just played for STA team that was loaded in the secondary and more ppl played because of it.. I think in the Under-Armour game, ABjr will showcase what ppl missed from him this year!!

ABjr is a talented football player that will benefit here at Miami, I think being in the system Manny runs and learning from Rumph and Banda, ABjr will be a hybrid type DB meaning he will most probably play both positions.. ABjr will come in during the first session and I can definitely see him making his presence known and competing for PT in year 1..

Wilson was a premadonna the whole time he was being recruited but knowing who and what his dad is.... it makes sense that the kid learned to be an arrogant elitist snob who is afraid of too much contact btw! Watch his college film and tell me I'm wrong!
