Seeing Randle move so effortlessly for a guy his size, and knowing his track work, he reminds of an old time UM linebacker who started at UM the same year as me in 1989…Jesse Armstead.
I know it’s crazy to compare Randle to the #1 defensive player in the country and 10 year NFL player even after a serious knee injury, but that is who Randle moves like. That’s all I’m saying by way of comparison. Randle MOVES like Armstead. Freakishly fluid for a guy his size.
Honestly it was listening to @DMoney’s podcast that made me think of Armstead with how he and AR described Randle’s playing style. Not so much of a knock out hitter as a guy who makes every tackle and can really run. Those highlights were amazing. The guy played at least 5 different positions; LB, Nickel, Edge, QB, WR. When was the last time you saw a guy play QB and WR, and neither are his primary position or even primary side of the ball. ?! Crazy highlights.
And he runs the 300 hurdles which are as hard to run as any track race as it demands sprinter speed and technique over a long distance.
