Ahmmon Richards...

Question for those who understand this stuff.

I just read JT Barret had surgery to remove a piece of torn meniscus, and WILL play this weekend. HOW is that possible, and was that not an option for AR?

Like I said earlier in the thread, you can return within 2 weeks depending on how it is torn. Barret is pushing it at less than a week but he is in top shape so the structure around his knee is solid so possible. I personally think AR should just heal up and get ready for next year and show he was just a victim of the soph slump. He has suffered some type of injury in almost every game played this season.

We need him in a bowl game or playoff.

If we get Alabama in the OB on Dec 31st I believe he will play (assuming it really was just a torn meniscus.

Didn’t they shut him down for the season? I don’t think he will be playing if we are in the playoff.

He's out for the season per todays injury report.

At least the injury is only a meniscus. He could be ready for spring.

Highly doubtful he does anything meaningful this spring. My guess is he’s shut down until the summer.

You can come back from a meniscus in 2 weeks depending on how it is torn.
Riiiiiiiiggghhtttt....... Go ask D Wade about that miniscus scalping procedure he had done that allowed him to come back quickly.

Are you stupid? People recover from meniscus tears in weeks. A chick in our office is 70 pounds overweight, having surgery for the same injury, and will be back walking a week after the surgery. This chick has never done a day's worth of exercise in her life.
You’re the f@cking retarded POS that is saying you can come back in weeks you dope he’ll just Be hurting himself and his career. None athletes like your fat @ss girlfriend can do that type of surgery because she doesn’t earn her living with her body like an athlete.

They use a scalping procedure to get rid of the torn meniscus fibers and yes they can come back quickly just look at the examples of NBA players like Kobe and DWade but it’s a risk because D wade says he regrets ever doing it because it shortened his career that’s why he has never been the same since that surgery. But if you’re smart which I hope A.R is he will have the surgery to fix the torn ligament and let it heal. And he can give it a go next year.

But can she play DT?

Can she punt?

Mainly because Meyer doesn't give a **** about his players.

A torn meniscus sounds a lot more intimidating than it really is. My dad had the same injury. For the most part, recovery is relatively short — usually a few weeks.

Exactly! Plus these might be JT Barrets last days of playing QB cause he’s not that special but he is better than Rosier

For reference.. Lonnie Walker had a torn meniscus and was out about 6 weeks before he actually practiced again. You can walk on it 1 week, sometimes less after the surgery. The timetable depends on whether they’re repairing it by sewing it back together, trimming the edge of the meniscus, or fully removing it. We’ll never know the extent of the injury and which surgery he had.

How's her arm? Can she hit an open receiver on a bubble screen?

Oh ok, so your father had a long football career? Nice

I don't understand the confusion. Depending on the severity of the tear, the recovery time isn't extremely long. No matter what happened, he will definitely be back in time for spring ball. Maybe not 100%, but he will be playing. People who don't play football recover quickly from these things. Imagine how well he will do with all the resources devoted to him.

Lonnie was out for 14 weeks. Injured July 11th, cleared to practice October 17th. However I suspect he had torn it months earlier as he was clearly having knee pain during the Jordan Brand Classic 3 months earlier, so that may have contributed to the long recovery time.

Do you not know who Lonnie Walker is

Repair of meniscus= typically 10-12 weeks, menisectomy (taking piece out)= 2-6 weeks return to play

Meniscus tear victim here. Got mine a couple weeks before varsity soccer season started in HS.

Keeping in mind college athletes are gonna recover faster.

I was running nearly full speed on track in 2 weeks. Played just a little in tournament at 3 weeks.

Gradually played more and more, but didn’t get back into starting lineup until our second game (6 weeks). And was a bit nervous then going full in on a tackle w that leg.

I’d say full recovery was 8 weeks. Meaning full confidence playing.

And as stated, severity of injury matters.

So, recovery as far as running? Yes he will be running on it pretty soon probably.

To summarize, 1. Cool story bro, B. AR’s tear likely more severe considering people were claiming multiple torn ligaments, and 3. even if he rushed along, he isn’t gonna be full go physically and mentally for a sport as violent as football at 5 weeks.

The last thing you want to do is rush him. The reason why he tore it in the first place is because of his hamstring injury. That turned into an ankle and now the knee. Let him heal and comeback for a monster season next year.

Had a achilles injury too.
