The 2026 NFL Draft just concluded, but that hasn’t stopped CBS Sports from creating a way-too-early first-round mock draft.

While three Hurricanes were selected in the first round of the 2026 draft, CBS Sports predicts one Hurricane going in the 2027 first round.

Miami Hurricanes rising senior defensive tackle Ahmad Moten is projected to land with the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 18.

Ahamd had a breakout season this past year with the Hurricane, going for 20 tackles and 4.5 sacks. He was...

The CBS writer is probably not part of the Mensah society.
Most of the early mocks I have seen (which mean nothing right now) dont have him included, which is good because will be interesting to see how fans say it was Mensah offense and no credit to Dawson when his stock elevates.. Im excited for the Mensah offense..

Moten is absolutely on the upswing. Took him some time, but defensive tackle takes a while to grow into. Butch Davis once said there’s only a handful of players out of high school who could play defensive tackle at the D1 level their freshman year. They may have, of course meant based on the Miami standard of play, but it does take time to develop explosive strength, especially when you’re moving up a level to major D1 count football, and practicing and playing against offensive lineman, who have been in college for several seasons.

Moten and Scott both seem to be making that move into elite status. Miami hasn’t had players like this at that position for a long time.

I feel like it’s been since that bull**** ejection against GT when he murdered a kid on the field

He’s been a force since then

Poyser has a chance also. He's probably our best tackling db and will test extremely well. He's still learning, a big jump is possible

Idk why I don't see it with OJ as a 1st rounder but I want to
The following year, yes, but not next year! He has to show he can stay healthy! Buddy needs to be wearing leg wraps and compression pants and some longer **** football pants to help with those soft tissue injuries.

Been tough with his injuries. It’s still a little wild how loaded our CB room is right now. OJ, Lucas, O’Conner, Antoine, then Damari the wild card.

If a guy like Dylan Day can take a step with Thornton/Poyser/Fitz

That’s an insane secondary potentially
