For all we know, the hearing could be going on right now.

The motion called for two different kinds of remedies.

One would be a removal of the TRO, which could happen by an administrative order. The court would give both sides notice of such a thing happening, even if it takes a minute to get them the paperwork.

The other remedy was to have the hearing today, which miiiiight (?) be happening. Similar to the TRO hearing earlier this week, you would expect a relatively quick determination and announcement.

Of course, an ice storm could also be hitting the courthouse, and maybe everyone was sent home early.

Where did I say I was underwhelmed? I said it’s the weirdest CV I’ve seen. 18 years as a clerk, sandwiched between stints at the same firm. That is not a big gun. That is someone with very little first chair experience.

It's an odd choice, for sure. More often you'll see something like, Firm X for a year or two --> Clerkship for up to 4 years (i.e., a "term" law clerk) --> return to Firm X. Maybe with another clerkship for a different judge/court sprinkled in there. Rarely do you see career law clerks re-enter the fray of civil litigation after 10+ years (and those who bolt more often end up in another government position or academia).

Without looking her up, my assumption is her judge left the bench, prompting her decision to return to private practice. That, or maybe she had a significant change in her personal life that significantly impacted her time or monetary demands (i.e., divorce, kids leave the nest, etc...).
