Certainly would delay his education for several months and his progression towards a degree or graduate degree. And the context here is important as well because the court has issued injunctive relief on the basis of the "cannot transfer or attend another school" clause that ultimately is likely unenforceable or at least unnecessary and harmful beause Duke has an adequate remedy via the arbitration/damages.

Read through the emergency motion and Mensah's affidavit. I'll consider this my "continuing legal education" that I have to do for the Bar anyways. Basically, the motion asks the court to reconsider portions of the TRO and expedite the hearing date due to a "manifest injustice" based on new information since the hearing, which in this case, is essentially the school enrollment deadlines of today. Looks like it was filed last night but with the outlook outage (and certain counties if a doc is filed after 5 it shows up the next day which is unfortunate because the clerk doesn't accept it until the next day), they essentially want the hearing today. Unknown whether that would actually happen (i have the docket open in the background and nothing yet). So a new judge with a possibility that he cannot enroll in a school (Miami, although I am SURE we'd make an exception lol) and no prejudice to Duke to have the hearing sooner are the main points.

Not sure how likely it's granted but worth a shot
one thing that is universally true is the court system doesn't work fast. I can't imagine filing something the 22nd and expecting to get a hearing the 23rd. the attorneys tend to be unavailable on such short notice.

I also truly think having an entire team of 21-23yr olds battling 18-19yr olds plays a part

I remember reading how Army and Navy literally "drafted" transfers after WW2. Notre Dame as well. They had 20 something year old war veterans playing against often teams that perhaps had mostly teenagers and not as many veterans. This had to be an advantage.

Cig portal transfers by year: 31, 23, 17
Deion: 43, 34, 42

TrumpyCane gets your point but it's also a bit different
There's a huge difference between going portal heavy and what Deion is doing.

He's portaling at the cost of high school recruiting. He's only taken 43 high school players in the last 3 years combined.

Of the 27 total high school players he took in his 24 and 25 classes, 14 are in the portal or already transferred.

Other than a few downfield shots with almost no risk to pump up scores, we also just apparently took vertical routes other than digs (intermediate) out of our gameplan.

Just a solid "no thanks, we're going to play underneath everything."

I'm sure they have their reasons, but I generally despise that.
I don’t think they wanted to risk it with Carson’s arm. Which is why the last throw was even more infuriating. Also why not throw that to 3 who can big boy someone or 7!? Sigh

Explain this to me like I'm a golden retriever....we fuccin or nah?

🤣

As a Mets fan I'm ashamed that this guy is a Mets fan. He can't truly believe breaching a NIL contract will get you thrown in jail especially one that clearly states the penalty for breaching is X dollars.
As a Met fan I am just ashamed to be a Met fan, and feel the shame of all Met fans.
