This is actually the first NC game loss that I have gotten over almost immediately. We just got out executed by a better team. Did we have the better players. Yes but it came down to a final drive and they beat us on execution. In 85, 86, 92, 02 I never felt right. Maybe 85 and 92 not as much because we got dragged, but the other years those losses haunted me for years. I can sleep at night and feel like the school and program actually cares again and we are well built for the future.
I actually watched Indiana celebrate and was in some bizarre way happy for them. It ****ed me up really. I’m certainly not getting more mature or growing up. They showed big balls in that game and made the plays when they needed to. Sure we can blame O’Connor and Bauman and Beck, but that’s not how I felt personally

This playoff run was my favorite sports memory even though we didn’t close the deal

At this point , I'd have to agree with @RVACane and others that he should just enroll this afternoon. Then he has the excuse that he tried to get a judgement, but just couldn't let the opportunity slip away due to the inaction of the court.

one thing that is universally true is the court system doesn't work fast. I can't imagine filing something the 22nd and expecting to get a hearing the 23rd. the attorneys tend to be unavailable on such short notice.
Duke somehow got a hearing on Tuesday when Monday was a holiday with the courts closed. No way they filed Friday when they claim he waited until the last minute to tell them,

The motion is not all that interesting to read, but it basically says the enrollment deadlines are approaching and because he can’t enroll after the deadlines the TRO is effectively a permanent injunction that would cause him irreparable harm. They are seeking a hearing today. The court so far has not scheduled one. This is being handled by local counsel in NC that is a UNC undergrad.
That's the strategy I suggested on here a couple days ago! Still got some of the fastball left (very little). But play the irreparable harm card. Of course they will respond with Miami has indicated they can/will extend the deadline. Duke should remember the words of Ambrose Bierce: "Litigation is a process which you enter as a pig and emerge as a sausage."

That is poetic! 😂

That also could have been the point of filing it at all. They can then say he tried but had to enroll otherwise he would not be able to attend school in the spring.

I was most upset for guys like Cici and Bain. Would have been an amazing story if we could have sealed the deal at home. Love what we’ve built and where we are headed. But we let one slip away.

You don't have to go after 4 and 5 star KIDS when they signing **** 25yr old GROWN *** MEN. Some of them cats should be working toward their 2nd NFL contracts.

My wife asked me why I didn’t stay to watch the celebration after the game. I said to her: “Are you ******* crazy?”

The world became a blur to me when I saw the interception. I didn’t even notice the penalty for the helmet coming off, I do remember the red confetti because it made me feel like a bomb blew me up and then I remember getting agitated with people standing on the steps instead of ******* moving so that I could get the **** out of the stadium.

So, are you ******* crazy watching that celebration? lol.

In the motion they said all counsel are available mostly bc most of this is on zoom

Hard to argue irreparable harm when he can enroll after spring. Not sure this motion is going to work.

However, I've been convinced by all the law experts on this board. Just enroll and say **** it. Miami will pay your fines anyway.

Definitely incorrect.

In fact, read in the memo what the courts say about "irreparable harm".

I felt very similar. Could you imagine if it was Taint or UGA or Oregon hoisting the trophy? At least you could look at Indiana's body of work this season and go "yeah, they earned that." Didn't make me want to puke/cry any less afterwards but it helped the healing process begin lol.

Agreed. This squad was truly a “team” and it’s been a long time since we’ve seen that here. I knew if someone was going to beat us they’d have to go through some **** to do it
