It will be interesting to see if Cignetti can continue success and keep Indiana at a consistent 10-win level. Indiana tasted the ultimate success in college football and doesn’t want that taste to go away. They will spend the money as evidenced by Cignetti’s contract extension to over $10 million a year. I think he’ll have a nice long run in Indiana.

I will say, we have been really level headed about this NC loss. I’m actually surprised. But maybe that’s also the years of mediocrity coming into play. I for one considered this a successful year after we won against A&M in the first playoff game

We just ran into the well coached, disciplined team in Indiana and we still had our chances

Its a different feeling than the last 20 years

I am usually mad and disappointed after a loss, but this time im just hurt. Hurt for the players and coaches, hurt for us..Its probably a worse feeling tbh but its a different feeling than being mad and disappointed to the point you almost have no hope

Us being level headed is because we know we’re a serious program again. Feels like the beginning of something more so than the end

I don’t disagree.

I do think coaches have to look at the portal now with so many guys leaving because they’re not getting the playing time they believe they deserve or a bigger payday.

That and it is an opportunity to flip a room. Miami did it with the defensive backfield.

This is actually the first NC game loss that I have gotten over almost immediately. We just got out executed by a better team. Did we have the better players. Yes but it came down to a final drive and they beat us on execution. In 85, 86, 92, 02 I never felt right. Maybe 85 and 92 not as much because we got dragged, but the other years those losses haunted me for years. I can sleep at night and feel like the school and program actually cares again and we are well built for the future.
