I aint talking about the outome.Yes, both coaches were heavy on the portal, but the results are different. Deion had some flash at the beginning but that fell away, especially now with his son graduated. Cignetti just won the national championship with a 16-0 season in the modern era.
And as another poster mentioned, Cignetti brought a number of players from JMU with them. Those players were familiar with each other, the system and the coaches.
I’m not a Sanders hater. His personality rubs some people the wrong way, but I think he’s a good coach. I don’t know how good a program builder he is. Does he grind on the recruiting trail like Mario or other recruiters?
It will be interesting to see if Cignetti can continue success and keep Indiana at a consistent 10-win level. Indiana tasted the ultimate success in college football and doesn’t want that taste to go away. They will spend the money as evidenced by Cignetti’s contract extension to over $10 million a year. I think he’ll have a nice long run in Indiana.
I'm talking about the process. Cignetti brought his louie bags from JMU and the portal and no one said sh8T. Cignetti did the same sh*t..we did the same...and folks would push the narrative that the portal is wrong ...blah blah blah...but cause they want to like the cignetti story the narrative is now teams should do it like "he did". lol its hilarious
Currently has 17 commits out the portal off a national champ run...
55 transfer portal players the 2 years prior.
