It sure can and I’m not a Cig fan. He grabbed his own guys and wanted older disciplined players. Maybe they both used the portal a lot but one went with flash and the other quietly built up and we didn’t even notice until half way through this season. We laughed at Indiana last year saying they would get smacked when they played a real team and they did. When they beat OSU I took them seriously but still thought we would beat them and we should have.

The thing is the “mess” is his contract with his school. It’s zero involvement from us. I agree we should be more proactive in attacking the portal early. Indiana had 10 commits day it opened. But as far as mensah, we are just continuing our program as normal until he figures out his issues with Duke. Once his agent and him negotiate a buyout price, we can evaluate if we want to pay it or not.
But if he comes available, he’d be a great fit

We made a national title with a guy who couldn't practice in spring. Appears kids who went to UM from 06 to 10 got a rough education. This is coming from an 06 grad.

If you think we are “universally hated” for getting a good qb who went into the portal, then you are buying into the propoganda. It’s his own decision to enter the portal, and his own decision to leave Duke.
He clearly decided he wants to leave, and of course we are going to be interested. Every high quality QB in the nation knew we had big money to spend after Simpson revealed our offer to him.
So they all heard that, and it sounds like mensah was intrigued, and took it upon himself to ditch Duke

Would pay money to see that court battle. The NFL is the second biggest institution in this country only behind the federal government. They would have Duke’s football program cancelled and the stadium torn down and the earth salted in a week.

He can run. I have no idea why never did at Duke. Go to the 2:34 mark, the 8:20 mark and the 9:22 mark.

Don't watch the 8:45 mark unless you want to see Bauman catch a TD pass and do a dance.
