duke is a better law school. doesn't mean duke lawyers are handling this. theyre off in NYC doing M and A work. if duke lawyers were handling this, they need to go back and figure out the law part of law school again and retake contracts

Duke is represented by Womble Bond ****inson. They are a pretty bland biglaw firm. Never knew anyone there but I do know they have a rep for paying below market. Certainly not a bet the company litigation choice.

It's in Duke's best interest to settle. Otherwise, they're going to have to pay Mensah $4m to fulfill his marketing obligations. It would be stupid for Duke to have Mensah to show up to an event wearing a Duke shirt to sign autographs when he's no longer playing for them. Mensah can't be forced to play or else it's pay for play. Mensah would be $4m wealthier, but he won't be playing for anyone. Worst case for Mensah is it's like a redshirt year getting paid $4m to do nothing but marketing.
