I am still not sure this mess is worth it. We could have snapped up Raiola within the window for like $2ish million and had a good shot at 9 wins next year. Now we are universally hated, and likely going to be paying a ton for a slight upgrade at QB.
"Now" we're universally hated? Let me catch you up on the last 40 years Rip Van Winkle.

I’m gonna keep this 100 and be non-biased here. If Duke actually paid Mensah, then yeah, I 100% agree Duke should get their money back. No debate. That’s fair.

But if Duke didn’t pay him, which they didn’t, then Duke, what are we doing here? I really don’t get the angle. Mensah is never suiting up for Duke again. That ship has sailed.

How is he just entering the portal? I thought the deadline to enter the portal was last week, aside from players on teams in the championship, Miami and Indiana.

I think they want to bully the kid into coming back. I think they built their entire fake ACC title on him and the WR they are also losing, and this basically destroys their next season before it starts, so why not go to whatever lengths possible to try to keep him.

It's pathetic, it's completely not in the interest of the athlete, its bad for the ACC bc Duke even with those guys has an 8 win ceiling at best, and it reeks of treating a player as property.

But that's Duke's position.

For argument’s sake, let’s say he’s forced to show up for spring practice. Man, I’d be out there dropping back and throwing the ball at dudes’ ankles, shins, straight into the dirt. Showing up late to meetings, barely engaged. And I’m not saying that’s right, but let’s be real, he’s not playing.

So what’s the point? That’s what I don’t get. If he’s never gonna suit up for you again, why are you burning money in court over a player who will never take another snap for your program? That makes zero sense to me.

I think the deadline was Thursday or Friday and they had two full business days to enter the players. That brought us to yesterday.

It's good cop bad cop. Right now they are bad cop but if he returned the *** licking would be off the chain, and it's in the players best interest to play well bc he will be drafted next year.

All of this is based on a power dynamic in which a bunch of really rich southern wasps and their lisping fraud of a head coach want this kid to play for them bc its what's best for THEM, and whatever he wants or is good for him be damned.

I can’t wait to hang 60 on these fools…if I was Heitner I’d have someone leak to the Duke people that the timeline regarding them “tampering and stealing” Mensah from Tulane will be the first thing brought up in opening arguments.

Let’s see how a judge handles them suing for something that they did to get Mensah that can be proven then bringing up a suit wasting taxpayers money when the kid has had second thoughts about being involved with a school so dirty and wants to move on elsewhere.

Settle for 9 wins? We ain’t going back to the pop tarts bowl man. It’s natty or bust. What other people think about how we get there is their problem. Get used to it.
