If they are going to force us to not have Mensah for spring it’s best we get him a kid he’s already comfortable with.

We’ve already got one on the roster with Bauman.

Sucks some guys might leave. But I’m not worried about HS recruiting taking a hit. Even with all these portal pulls our best offensive player is an 18 year old true sophomore.

Clearly we will play the best players. Odds are we will also lose at least one player per position group for every cycle of recruitment. You almost have to recruit anticipating one or two players not hitting your projection. We had three not hit from the ‘24 cycle. Thus forcing our hand to go heavy in the portal. If this causes Upshaw to portal so be it. I never envisioned keeping all three of Toney, Moore and Him anyway.

Agreed. We saw Jojo drop passes basically all year including in the Ole Miss game. Plus he spent half the year in the doghouse. Moore looked tentative on his limited opportunities. We shouldn't be sitting here hoping they get it together. They need to be pushed as well. You want the spot go take it from a seasoned vet.

2. They would take an NIL cut here because their ROI from HS hasn’t panned out
3. Some other school will pay them more than our NIL cut for a starting role

You tryna win chips or cater to young dudes ? This is a new era of college football you have to build a top roster by any means necessary or get left behind tryna bank on potential. Look at trader this year, imagine if we didn’t feel the need for Daniels or Marion because we didn’t want to “upset” trader lol

If they are getting a pay cut cut then totally understand. That means coaches saying you ain't good enough.

Moore had a great catch against Ole Miss. He showed more promise than Trader. Dude dropped everything.
 
Y receiver to replace CJ Daniels? Vaughn can’t like this. I’d pitch Vaughn and barkate that they will get snaps at Slot as we need to control the volume for Toney. If we are scoring 42 and increase the explosive plays, we have more drives and opportunities on O. That also means more pass rushing needed on D.

If they’re getting big time money out of HS and aren’t panning out, but coaches still see promise to keep them, they have to reduce their NIL and hope they do fight for a spot to free money for proven players. Said kid usually wants to start immediately and get paid so they leave. Just what it is now.

We don’t even know if all 3 will really be on the team. All this is speculation. Can we figure out whats definite before putting down the staff or saying over usage of the portal.
