He got multiple chances and really did look lost. You can’t just rearrange the offense to keep him happy. You’d basically telegraph plays even more than we already do. I’d love for someone to psychologically get Pringle through the feeling of getting fairly benched, but we also had a once in forever shot to win a national championship.
Everybody gets beat in pass protection, no one is perfect. H3ll mark fletcher the best pass blocking running back in the country gave up a sack each of the last 2 games

We will have two WRs on the team who had 1,000 yards receiving last year. Barkate and Toney. Plus our other WRs like Jacobs, Moore, Winfield. Trader if he gets it together. Just filthy. Deepest WR room in a long long time at Miami.

Now add Fletcher.

Our offense has a real chance to be better than it was in 2024.
Winfield? lol

It’s not changing the offense it’s trying something because we lacked explosiveness and what you were currently doing wasn’t working. I’m not saying do the exact same thing with him every game but he could have been used in some capacity

Jojo has 19 receptions through 2 seasons, had a drop that **** near cost us a playoff spot and then had another awful one in the playoffs, but yeah definitely don’t bring in anyone that he’ll have to compete with.
Who said anything about jojo? My thing was guys like Moore and wingo. You already brought in 2 wrs with multiple years left

Did watching Bauman suck *** all year convince the staff to just go 4 wide all season, or is there any kind of worry with Vaughn/Jacobs?
I sure asf hope so Mario needs to speed up the O big time i get it he couldnt this year i love Beck but man couldnt depend on him being a gun slinger. Mensah we can. We clearly needed help at WR this year too loved Marion but he wasnt getting seperation i think Daniels was banged up again. The competition in the Wr room would be crazy too. Anyways hope we do open it up more next year let Dawson do his thing Mario has to realize a dangerous passing game would open up the run!

If you think Fletcher missing a couple blocks after making 40 effective ones is the same as a kid completely lost as to where to look each time he was out there, then sure.

It's amazing to me that we just lost a heartbreaking game after a magical run to a team whose entire team concept it building via the portal, and yet some fans don't like doing it that way.

Reminds me of the folks who said "we didn't need fancy facilities" or "5 stars don't matter" in the early-mid 2000s. Staying ahead of the curve is the single most important way to remain relevant in this brutally competitive sport.

Side note: the entitlement of rich northeastern Duke kids having backed into an ACCG due to a) temporary conference expansions scheduling and b) the dumbest tie breaker rules ever, is truly a marvel to watch.

Josh Moore
Malachi Toney
Daylin Upshaw
Jojo Trader
Vandrevius Jacobs
Cam Vaughn
Cooper Barkate
Somourian Wingo
Milan Paris
Tyran Evans
Vance Spafford

Adding Cooper Barkate would give us the WR group above. Barkate would provide an experienced, reliable and very productive WR to a deep talented room that was missing exactly that. Would be a phenomenal get.
With real vertical threats, Fletcher might eat too. Really putting a team together

We will have a qb we can let air it out again
I rewatched some of the 2024 season again for fun prior to the natty game to kill the time. I hadn’t realized how much the vertical game was absolutely non existent for us with Beck…

Really think it will help open up the offense again… safety’s just did not fear Beck pushing the ball Deep

So from reading the Athletic article and subsequent comments a few things were learned:

- the hate for Miami is back as strong as ever, which is fantastic
- the entire premise Duke has for their case is "we can't prevent him from enrolling elsewhere or entering the portal, but since we own his NIL rights, nobody else can sign an NIL deal with him, only we can pay him for his NIL"

Basically Duke's position in their agreement is "he is not allowed to get an NIL deal elsewhere even if he leaves us, but if he does leave us we won't have to pay him the NIL deal that we claim is guaranteed in stone". A ridiculous, disgusting "contract" that basically says the student is owned by Duke.
Well they are certainly welcome to continue paying him his NIL deal, while he plays for us, if they would prefer to.

Them IU weirdos have been talking mad shi on social media. After most of them predicted a 3 to 5 TD rout over us, they’re now pivoting to “the refs helped us stay in the game” narrative.

It’s gonna be glorious when our Canes put the program with the worst win-loss record in CFB history back in their cave.

They ****ed Mario off. With as many mistakes as our dudes made, and we still almost beat them. Most of their fans are calling our Canes thugs, criminals, cheaters. One of them even said that Mario teaches his players how to permanently injure opposing players. Bunch of soft shouldered jabronies.

I think they intensified Mario’s fire times 1,000,000 to get us not only #6, but possibly more than that.

Curt Cignetti built Indiana by using the portal heavily yes but more specifically he used the portal to bring in older, seasoned and very experienced players. Cignetti didn't have a foundation of 4 and 5 star athletes/prospects to build on so he went out and filled his rooster with experienced 4th 5th and even some 6th year players. They didn't have to be superstars. He wanted solid football players who were seasoned and mature with high football IQs. If you look at his model, it really is quite ingenious but there's more to it. Cignetti is an excellent football coach and he surrounded himself with an elite staff OC Mike Shanahan and DC Bryant Haines are among the very best coordinators in the nation.

I think what some of our fans object to is the idea of building a football team almost exclusively through the portal. I don't think they have a problem with using the portal. They just don't want to take 30 plus kids from the portal every year at the expense of high school recruiting. That's my humble opinion on the subject.

hopefully Luka Gilbert takes a significant 2nd year leap, and Lofton gets healthy and a more favorable role for him( not for nothing, I heard he and our former TE Coach didn't see eye-to-eye)
Regarding Lofton and Woodiel, that would make sense. Hopefully, this is the beginning to Lofton getting his mojo back, getting healthy, in shape and having an awesome junior year!
