I guess I don't understand the mechanics of NIL.

I thought it was something like, "This local car dealership will pay you X amount of money to promote them...in the hopes that your name/face will sell more cars and bring in X+ money." It's ROI, right?

So...
1. How is Duke University affected at all? Isn't NIL required to be separate from the school itself?

2. Wouldn't the fact that someone didn't want to "put on" for your school/business intrinsically diminish any potential ROI? No one is gonna hire someone as a "spokesperson" who refuses to promote them.
Profit share is w the school…I assumed it was PS contract?

Are they just trying to get us to pay some sort of buyout? Why would you sue the kid for him to stay around when he doesn’t want to?
He does want to play there but miami paying him millions more has changed the calculus to playing at miami. So coming to miami has nothing to do with not wanting to play at duke.
