Are we bad people for so enjoying the idea of Mensah and what he would mean for Canes football, while completely not caring about the impact this has on other teams and the sport as a whole? Are we the Dodgers of college football?

I mean I certainly hope we are all of what I think we may be, but should we feel bad about it even a little bit?
Fck no , did they give a **** when the ncaa delayed are punishment like two **** years to hurt us on purpose . This is what nobody wanted to happen outside of Miami fans . To wake up the sleeping giant . We will not be one and done relevant . We will be contenders every year imo

I don't feel bad for universities preventing players to receive adaquate compensation, including medical compensation post their playing career, for over a decade whilst cashing in millions of dollars via TV contracts.

I don't feel bad for coaches affecting kids lives, luring them into a program and then leaving that program a few weeks later, with the player being stuck somewhere without the guy that recruited him being there and little options to transfer out.

I don't feel bad about coaches lying to players and universities about speaking with other programs before bailing at the last minute and leaving.

And I most certainly don't feel bad about universities paying off high schools, handlers, parents and players to make their sons commit to their school, whilst not ever receiving punishment.

College Football was never pure. Let's not pretend it was something before this. I don't give a ****.

You play the game as it is. Not what u wish it would be. When the SEC was going ham buying whoever with under the table bags, i wanted us to do the same, not sit there and complain. Yes I know we were under surveillance.

They will makes changes, wnd when they do, we adapt to that as well. No one cares about what your program used to be or should be. Doesn't matter which name brand you are

When you have suffered the mockery of other fan bases for 23 years like we have? Not a bad person for thinking only about Miami. Don’t know how many times I heard someone say (or I read on the internet) that Miami football is 100% dead and never coming back. They said UM fans were delusional for not accepting that we were, and would forever be, irrelevant. They laughed at us for two decades. Now they aren’t laughing. Enjoy it.

Remember when someone started a post on here the other day asking why we became, or enjoy being fans of The U? There’s many reasons, but seeing everyone’s reaction to this story today is Exhibit A. It was all good when Miami was going 6-6 and teams were coming down here dropping bags and stealing all our recruits, but as soon as we start being good again everyone in college football is like, “No, no, no, we can’t have this.”

Sports do not have morals and ethics. The amateur soccer leagues I play in pay money off to players under the table, sometimes in the four digits every month and we're not like close to being professionals or any of that.

People need to stop making stuff up in their head.

True, and the thing is the schools could stop all this stuff tomorrow if they wanted to, but they won’t. These kids technically aren’t employees of these schools, they’re students. Why don’t they want to make them employees? Because they don’t want to have to worry about long-term disability, workman’s comp, retirement, and all these things “employers” have to worry about. These schools wanna horde all this money for themselves. So the bottom line is, don’t hate the player hate the game. We’re just playing by the rules the adults created…like Mario said.
