so how exactly does duke hold the cards here? in that scenario, they’d be losing the guy that won them a conference championship, are pivoting towards some dude we’ve never heard of, and we pay them some scratch that we earned in the playoffs. if it was an airtight contract they’d be going the washington route.

I think this means we can expect lawsuits and legal grandstanding when unsuccessful programs have players who are poached. Wisconsin and now Duke. The legal shenanigans by lower tier programs only serves to deepen the divide between the haves and have nots.

Duke doesn’t hold any cards. Manny is looking for a QB bc no matter what happens Mensah ain’t playing for them ever again. And if Duke gets buyout money, who cares. Adults buy out contracts all the time.

Yea, I don't understand how they can stop him from enrolling.

Unless he doesn't want to enroll until he has a contract with Miami and can't do that until this resolves.

He can. What are they going to do, place in contempt of court? Order he stop attending ? This biggest reason why you wouldn't at this point from my understanding is tortious interference. Thats why they put that tweet in there but didnt mention miami by name. Oce he associates himself with miami, they can sue the school.

Duke is making contingency plans at QB. The TRO was solely granted to stop Mensah from enrolling somewhere else and actively pursuing the case, because the original judge, as we know, decided to step off due to him being biased.
 
i’m skeptical of legal analysis from a man that wears women’s hats.

It is so much fun on X trolling Duke fans. You can’t tamper take who ever you want. Oh like you did to Tulane. But he has a contract, oh you mean you have an employer contract that he has to go to Duke.. Relax no judge will force a kid to stay in a college. Miami booster will pay any buyout. That ends this. Really bad look by Duke. Just have fun an troll them saying no athlete will ever go to Duke again.
