Most people don’t realize how much the staff loves Josh Moore. Also he was battling injury since usf
That explains a lot of stuff that I was wondering about with him. Because he was absolutely erased from playing time after that game.

Gonna have a WR named COOPER and VANCE on this team next year.

We gonna really get #6 this time.

What Indiana taught us, you need some good whites catching passes for you sometimes.
Like I said before the game, Becker is not your traditional "good white guy" catching passes. Actually, #13 played more like Barkate will play. Insteda, Becker crushes cushion in a hurry and then boxes out DBs. How we failed to have a specific plan for that on film is sort of beyond my understanding, but I do get that OJ was apparently limited.

What’s Spanish for “Squeal like a pig”?

I know this is a terrible answer, but those plays are almost unguardable. Could we have pressed harder to throw off timing? Could we have put a different kid on him? Yeah. But that was far and away my #1 concern going into the game from a defensive standpoint. I was fully confident we could limit every single aspect of their offense (and we did), except when they really needed a play, literally all season, they beat the brakes off people with the back shoulder throws. It worked all season, against everyone. It's their bread and butter, honestly. I knew before the snap on both those plays that it'd be the call. We really needed OJ in those situations, the only way to stop that is to play incredibly violently at the catch point and hope you don't get a PI. Pretty much the way OJ played it in the endzone on their first scoring drive, actually, but it's a lot easier when you're at the 10 and you don't have to worry about him running by you.

It's just a total mismatch on O'Conner. And they exploited it, and it won them a natty. I really don't know how you plan to stop it other than challenging your DB to get a rebound without fouling.

At the end of the day, injuries at DB cost us bigly. The way to combat those plays from them is to have a big, physical DB who can match Becker's strength. 24 ain't that. 2, 6, and 29 are. Well...in the 2nd half, only 1 of those kids was on the field.

Jacobs and Vaughn are good pickups but pretty sure if Moore, Wingo, etc. outplay them in practice they will play over them on Saturdays. If Miami gets Barkate he and Toney are really the only 2 WRs that would need to probably need to forget how to play football to lose their spots.

Jacobs is a burner. I'm good with him only getting 20 snaps and everyone is pushing the safety back to open the under routes for Toney/Barkate.

You can do that, and you can change personnel. It was plainly obvious from watching their games over the course of the season and thinking about how they'd specifically attack us. See point #2 below. Prior to the game.

Well said as always, and maybe this is pussification, I'm not sure, but I really think this was just their Jimmy's and Joe's being better than ours, and not so much X's and O's. They just lined him up on the perimeter and said hey 24, this is what I'm doing and you can't stop it. I'd like to think those plays go differently if 29 is out there, but we'll never know. They knew they had an advantage physically, and they attacked it. Good coaching. I don't think I can really say it's bad coaching on Heatherman's part, we just have a weak link for that particular method of attack, and they went right at it when they needed it most. DB depth killed us.

There was a big update in the transfer portal last night, and it's a huge deal...

Duke's star wide receiver, Cooper Barkate, is jumping into the transfer portal to explore new opportunities after a standout season with the Blue Devils.

So, who could be Miami's next quarterback next season? It's Darian Mensah, who’s transferring from Duke. Cooper was his main guy, so they already have a good connection, and now they’re both linked to Miami, and could make them a duo to watch out for, according to On3.

Barkate, who joined Duke last offseason after three years at Harvard, had an great season with the Blue Devils, with 72 catches for 1,106 yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games in 2025.

Before that, he spent three years at Harvard, racking up 113 catches for 1,742 yards and 14 touchdowns from 2022 to 2024.

Barkate was the top receiver in yards for both Duke and the ACC, snagging second team All-ACC honors and a spot on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List.

If Miami can somehow get this duo, it would be a fantastic addition for the Hurricanes. Not only getting Mensah but also his go-to guy? Yes, please!
Him and Tony alone will give Miami a top 5 receiver core in the nation, throw in Vandrevius Jacobs and Cam Vaughn and Miami is firmly in the discussion for the #1 receiver core.

2026 is going to look like a even better 2024 Miami offense
