It just really dawned on me that alot of people were saying Richards was benched by Richt at LSU because he yelled at Rosier. Now with this news about his career ending injury, alot of people on youtube and on here were peddling that conspiracy along with other ones. The new one is that Richt was gonna bench Perry against FSU.

These people owe Richt an apology. I don't know which players, or their families read this site but its the best cane site so i can imagine some do, Shaq and Steed's dad posted here i can remember off the top of my head. If someone can't provide proof of what they say, i suggest you tell them to kindly F off. These so called insiders who act like they know but have hidden agendas against staff they think should be replaced.

Criticise all you want about scheme and coaching ability but please dont peddle your bull and then we end up with a situation where a kid's career is over, you look like a **** clown. And some of u are quick to believe every **** thing if it makes the coaches look bad. Most likely they were waiting for second and third opinions on his injury and some of our so called fans were peddling that bull. Sorry for that long post, it pizzed me off.

All good bruh.......you speak the truth.

Based on what Richt said on the radio, the thought of benching Perry did cross his mind, but Jon talked him out of it. Win or lose, I think he had to keep Perry in.

mostly correct, however Richt did say in the post game presser that he had thought about benching him for a series, but decided to stick with it.

Richt would have ruined Perry if he benched him - it would have affected his confidence and made him fear failing. Richt has to let the young man fail, thus making Perry pick himself up off the grass and play another down. Perry is learning how to qb and win. DBJ said it just before UNC game (I am paraphrasing since I am too lazy to find the sound bite) - 'Perry is going to have good games and bad games as he learns to be a starting QB, but its important to allow him to learn. It will be tempting to pull him when things get rough, but that will be when he learns the most and become a much better QB'. I have to agree with DBJ, Perry is going to have some bad quarters. The key is - does Perry improve week over week? Also the o-line did him no favors against FSU. FSU was living in the backfield most of the night. Perry has become hyper aware of pocket collapses (in a bad way as in ptsd), from being hit and fumbling when the pocket has collapsed. For a young QB that is tough learning ground. I feel he came back in the second half and played better - still not where he needs to be, but better (at one point he was 31% in first half - YIKES). Hopefully he will learn from this game and improve on accuracy and more importantly pocket presence.

Honestly the o-line and Perry will need to improve quite a bit if we are going to beat VT. I think Perry is going to really find his groove over the next 2 games, the question really is will the **** poor o-line performance improve. If it doesn't Nov 17 in a cold Blackberg will be a very long night.

This is one of the most accurate posts I've ever read on here lol you can't bench a guy you just turned to. Props to Jon Richt for talking Mark out of it, if it's true.

Don't know why some are so defensive about this, I agree with the OP completely. All of that was based on nothing more than BS speculation...oh, he is mad at Malik, Richt benched him for this, blah blah blah. All ridiculous. I always figured that the most likely explanation, by far, was that the guy was simply hurt.

Criticize play calls in an intelligent manner, that's fine, but this kind of thing makes us look stupid and helps create a toxic fanbase we don't need.

The post was mainly about the Richards situation and how people jump on things and start spreading stuff and that was really egregious, with not one ounce of proof

Lots of dummy fans on here calling him IR82, and calling him soft the last few weeks....only to turn around and say "always a cane" .......awkward stuff.

Been watching these highlights and seeing Ahmmon be the biggest cheerleader on the field that night has taken on a new meaning.

I’m hurt, dawg.

An I feel bad for AR82, it's such a shame here.
There's actually a little part of me that feels Haselwood got word of this earlier.

When you look at what has happened to our offense so far, it's pretty amazing how we have produced lately.

Redshirt freshman QB
Lost two very promising WRs
Lost two experienced TEs

Just goes to show how a veteran backfield with telanted depth can really carry an offense, and you have to give credit to our offensive line.

Great post. There was not one time in the game where I thought Rosier would do better. Yes, Perry missed some throws but we've seen Rosier miss those same throws. That TD to Jordan is a pick with Rosier since we know Rosier would have never looked off the safety. No way Rosier makes that throw to Thomas either.

Perry needs experience. Once he learns how to make his reads, he should be fine. He reverts to scramble ball too much if his first read isn't there. I love that when he does scramble he is still looking down the field which will give us some big plays over his career (unlike Rosier who looks to run).

I owe Richt an apology about the same as he owes me one for the Pitt game. Comes with the territory. Fans criticize, speculate. Coaches make excuses, justify. Not a perfect fan, he's not a perfect coach.

I agree with what you’re saying, but the OP’s point is different. The AR situation (being benched by Richt for multiple games because he got emotional on the sideline) was sold on these boards as truth. I don’t know who it was that first made this claim, but it was based on their supposed “inside information.”

There’s a difference between fans speculating or criticizing and a troll posting outright lies to make themselves look important and connected or to stir up unwarranted controversy. And in this case, we now have the real reason he’s been out of the games, and it not only proves the troll was wrong, but also shows that their lies were completely insensitive to the reality of a career ending, life changing injury.

I hope the originator of the false rumor enjoyed their upvotes at the expense of a young man’s painful reality.

Even championship-winning teams lose stupid games brah. Alabama usually loses one per year. Clemson lost to an unranked team before winning the title. I'll forgive a game or 2 a season as long as we keep winning coastal and getting closer to competing for playoff spots.

Which, of course, is WAY different than the faqqqy rumors being spread that he was going to bench Perry and had to be talked out of it.

Taking Perry out for a series or two to settle him down wouldn't have been a bad move. As it turned out, leaving him was successful too.
