U’re conflating this yr w the last few yrs. Lol. Do u know y? It’s b/c both Harden & Ant’s shoes are from Yeezy archives. They hit an absolute home run w them both, although Harden shoes crease & crack after a couple of wears like crazy.

U’re also conflating YNs w Athletes; two totally separate genres of mindsets. These YNs r trying to convince u that wearing Nike Tech sweatsuits w a Nike Pooh Shiesty mask & Avia shoes from Walmart is drippy. Lol

Like I’ve told ya’ll fine folks b4, we’ve been bumped out of the “priority” stage. Adidas’ branding is about Adidas which is why all of their futbol kits have stripes all over the place. They’re looking for their next power to boost their brand, & UTenn is ripe for the picking:
-Coming off a CFP bid
-Recently won the CWS
-Solid basketball team
-Women’s team is becoming relevant again
-Candace Parker is on their board

This is their new baby…for now

Lol, I feel you on Harden and Ant’s shoes being Yeezy remixes—completely agree and everyone sees it.

I’m saying Adidas is killing it with the young HS athletes, signing all the top talent. These kids are getting bags to rock Adidas. It’s bigger than the YN drip—Adidas is locking in the next gen, and Nike ain’t got that same shine with them no more.

Just all my opinion.. I’m old now.. I’m rocking anything that’s comfortable at this point 😂.. which usually ain’t Nike these days

So u have to understand Adidas’ business strategy:

Do anything to catch Nike.
They’ve poached former Nike execs, grassroots execs, designers, & collaborators since 1991. This is where Adidas gets itself in trouble, & I’ll explain.

U’re absolutely right, they are signing a bunch of young athletes to NIL deals; the problem? These young athletes r still attending Nike schools. On the field, there’s not an Adidas logo on these stars while getting a bag, which is the only thing that matters. If O$U wins another chip w J Smith, no one is going to say Adidas star J Smith, it’s going to be deemed as another Nike school that’s a National Champion.

These NIL deals r still funding Nike on the backend b/c their kids r elevating the Nike brand on the field. Nike is very strategic w who they allow to have signature shoes or branding; Adidas is a wide net type of brand, & it often backfires in their face. Who doesn’t have a signature shoe from Adidas or a PE?

Nike’s allure did drop from a couple of critical errors, creating room for brands like Adidas, On, NB, & Hoka to eat into its market share; however, there’s a reason y Nike’s stock is climbing while Adidas’ is faltering, & I can’t go into great detail, but their reorganization to get back to its roots is already working.

I want u to look down at the feet & I want u to see how many young kids r rocking Harden or Ant’s shoes on daily. U’ll be hard pressed to see it. These were the top basketball shoe sales of 2024 & most worn:

So no, my brotha, u ain’t old. I will never lie to this board & my carfax report on this subject has been pristine. Also, & I didn’t see this w my own eyes, but my partner said Ye was just in a sneak Nike ad w Travis Scott last yr.

It had been known for months that Tenn was switching to Adidas. I posted them as a Adidas school with A&M as soon as Keys signed with them. It was already known. Adidas is only left with MLS with pro sports. They are going to keep investing heavy in college with players and teams. We signed with them in 15 I believe. The contract is outdated.

Sad part? The contract became outdated in a matter of 2 yrs. What we signed w Adidas was the same $$ that other programs already had (UL, A&M, & KU as examples).

I just find it crazy when we signed w Adidas, it was worded eerily similar to what’s now being presented to UTenn, that we would be their Oregon. Ahhhh, the good times, when we had red carpet treatment & we were made to feel like Adidas’ biggest priority.

This was short lived as that contract was minuscule in comparison to all the contract extensions that Adidas shelled out b4 expiration, & then their biggest coupe, infiltrate the Pacific Northwest & snatch UW away in Nike territory.
