It is made. I’m not hedging at all, it’s quite the opposite. I don’t know the choice. I know who I think it is but that’s not factual. That’s the difference with me I never said a named or claimed to be breaking anything. I just said there could be another name involved we didn’t know about.
It sounds like you still think it's Jurich then

Tony is in play. Some folks want him and some want Jurich. The one positive with Tony is that “ could mean Mario is coming, there’s a connection. Jurich 100 % wants the job though.

Today should be interesting.
Not sure if you can answer or if you know but does Tony give MORE of an advantage to getting Mario than Jurich would? I'm just curious if hiring Jurich means the coaching search is more open and he wouldn't necessarily hire Mario without looking around.

As I said before, I UNDERSTAND why "some folks" want Hernandez, though I STRENUOUSLY DISAGREE with their thought processes.

I UNDERSTAND "familiarity" and "shared values", but it makes all the sense in the world when one is also a "strong leader" (i.e., Mario). I could answer multiple of @Tad Footeball 's questions in the affirmative, and I am still AGAINST hiring Cuban Peter Griffin as AD.

I think people are giving Tony a bad rap. First, he went to school at Miami, and worked at Miami. He knows the school and knows the issues. Tony left when he saw the problems and he saw them earlier than most of us. He has also done well overseeing Mens Basketball and Football at Texas Tech.

They don't even know who he is or anything about him. Maybe 2% of this board could name a single associate AD at ANY school in America besides UM, and 65% could not name one here either.

Thanks @Cribby , I am really hoping Tony is a smoke screen.

Surely this group of wealthy, intelligent individuals would not decide to hire a first time AD when they're "going all in"

Only at Miami.

Factions.

At least one faction prefers the familiar guy. Let's not forget, Beta Blake worked in the UM Athletic Department THREE SEPARATE TIMES. How do you think that happens? You keep bringing back the familiar guy.

This program is like A Song of Ice and Fire, f*uck me.

What is positive about a hiring a less qualified person because people who don't know anything about making football hires have decided to go all in on a coach?

Jurich+The Field or Tony+Mario isn't even a close one. You go with Jurich and whoever he decides is the best fit. There are other programs besides football that need attention. Does anyone actually believe the first time AD is getting Dimare out of here when the time comes?

To those people defending Hernandez I'd ask these questions:

- Are you a Kappa Sigma fraternity brother of his or a dork that knows him through his dork endeavors on the Greek front?

- Are you just cognizant of him because you a had a few classes with him and he was a nice enough fat guy?

- Did you work under him at Hecht and he was nice to you?

- Did you have some interaction with him as a season ticket holder/booster and found him pleasant enough and made you feel appreciated?

I GUARANTEE that almost all of his supporters around here will answer yes to at least one of these questions. There is ZERO other credible justification that you'd want him to get this job if you're actually serious about our program improving.

No x4

And I am not a supporter of his for this job right now, but he's a smart, talented guy who is good at his job and loves UM. I'd love to have him here in some capacity at some point. People should not be ripping him, he has a lot of Cane in his blood, and he's not even campaigning or saying he wants the job. He's not the enemy. And the fat jokes are juvenile. I've seen pics of the occasional board gatherings on here. All the wanna be Fabio keyboard warriors need to chill.
