Will people please STOP with the "search firm" nonsense?

First, we just SAID we would hire a search firm. There is no evidence that we have ACTUALLY hired a firm or that this "hiring" has yielded any additional names that we had not already contacted on our own. Even so, sometimes you hire a search firm to back-channel with people who are under contract, not to "produce actual names".

Second, you also use a search firm to do due diligence and background checks. I recently submitted information to one of these firms (for a job I was up for) and this particular firm only handled the background check aspect (i.e., I was connected to the job via another method).

FInally, regardless of whether you ultimately hire an "already known candidate", you might still use a search firm to fill out the rest of your job pool. The only real mistake that arises is if you were already 99% certain to hire the "internal candidate" anyhow, then the search firm makes no sense.

Lots of people on this board really do not understand high level corporate/organizational job search/placement/vetting. That's not a knock or an insult, it's just a statement of fact. There is no need to draw conclusions, we don't even know if Miami has followed through on its claim to use a search firm.

At least with prior head coaching searches, we knew the name of the firm and how much we paid. We don't know that here.

If they pass on Jurich for Tony the wrong people are making the decisions once again. Good Lord. What if they prefer Tony to get Mario in the bag and then Mario gets cold feet all the sudden? Please don’t **** this up guys.

Surely this group of wealthy, intelligent individuals would not decide to hire a first time AD when they're "going all in"

The name the OP and Z mentioned at the start of this thread is Jurich. Relax everyone it's going to happen, just the usual politics with some dumbnuts wanting Hernandez because they know him and his connection with Cristobal

Didn't you say yesterday that a 'decision was made'. No offense and totally appreciate the info you provide but it sounds like you're hedging now

Some folks want a puppet. These are the same clowns that have been a cancer. They want to pull strings when convenient but never actually be held personally responsible when the **** inevitably goes south.

If Luigi can actually be swayed to come here with a Hernandez hire vs a Jurich one then that should be a dealbreaker for everyone on Luigi as he's obviously a moron.

It is made. I’m not hedging at all, it’s quite the opposite. I don’t know the choice. I know who I think it is but that’s not factual. That’s the difference with me I never said a named or claimed to be breaking anything. I just said there could be another name seriously involved we didn’t know about. All the Twitter guys were saying who it was amd posting pictures.
