I liken Mario to a Butch archetype and Lane has some Spurrier in him . Neither is anywhere near those levels yet, but that’s the TYPE of coaching styles each represents . I’m honestly fine with either . Both approaches can work . Each will need different types of supporting hires on staff to offset their weaknesses and I’m banking on the fact they’ll each be smart enough to recognize that if they end up here.

There are a lot of unknowns, but with Mario we know Miami will recruit about as well as Miami can recruit. Massive differentiator for me because even if we don't get to where we need to, the roster will be in great shape for the next guy. Mario is good, knows the territory, and this city will do everything it can to make sure he's successful here, as we are already seeing a glimpse of. It's a slam dunk and I am sure the new AD, like almost everyone in CFB, knows he's a no-brainer coup for Miami. LFG.
