Disagree 100%. Sounds like a guy who knows he holds all the power in a negotiation and is trying to squeeze the other side to meet all of his wants and demands. If he was looking for an excuse to say no… he would have said no, especially having relationships with the boosters trying to make this happen.
Idk just coming out and saying NO would **** off a lot of his friends and family. If he didn't want to come here I would imagine he would use some excuse to keep face with his friends and family.

Stop. He lost all of his games by 10 points or less and has completely turned that program around. They were the worst team in the Big 12 for years and in his second year they went 7-5 and have been that or better every year since. This offseason is going to be the third straight year the NFL is going to try and pry him from that job.
It would **** them off way more if he strung them along and wasted their time. No one would fault him for wanting to stay at a top 10-15 program with guys he has now recruited instead of coming here to do what is needed to right this ship.

If you played FB during any time in the past six years then you’ll know that saying is used by everyone. Just because Al Golden said it every 5 minutes doesn’t mean when somebody else says it’s “Al Golden-Like”. Al Golden didn’t come up with that saying or live up to what it actually means.
What are you talking about? It’s Iowa State dude. There is no local recruiting market and you have to bring in OOS talent there and 90% of them don’t leave in that type of atmosphere. Like @JeddTheFisch said, winning there in itself is a miracle.
I agree, if he hasn’t gotten that commitment from powers that be then when will he? He could technically be hired tomorrow and he still doesn’t know yet? Getting Mario means a 70-80 million commitment over next 4-5 years are they ready to make that commitment?
I'm sure they are making a bit commitment and telling Mario they will make a big financial commitment. Maybe Mario is asking for to much or something unreasonable?

Could be, but he’s probably asking for a similar commitment that he has at Oregon or other programs around the southeast.
