I disagree, considering it's Iowa state and he can't attract the top recruits I think he had a solid season. He's 6-5 with losses to

Iowa by 10
Baylor by 2
West Virginia by 7
Texas Tech by 3
Oklahoma by 7

His team has been in pretty much every game. TTU and West Virginia are really the only questionable losses

I’m not high on him at all. He’s done good by Iowa State’s standards but I’m not positive he’s gonna do great at a big time school with huge expectations.

Typically yes but this year they were loaded with experienced star upperclassman and crumbled under expectations starting with Iowa game as usual. Preseason #7 and finish out of top 25. Lose all their star seniors too with tons of experience (Purdy, Kolar, Hall, Hutchinson, Rose, McDonald etc). If he was going to leave, this year would be ideal since he’s been riding that class since he got there.

Campbell sucks at recruiting.

You can’t find a single insider or recruiting beat writer that talks about how much recruits or high school coaches like him on the trail.

I'm sure they are telling Mario things will be fixed, I mean what more can they do? At some point Mario needs to accept the fact there will be growing pains and everything won't be 100% in place and ready on Day 1. If he can't accept that and is expecting Alabama like resources from Day 1 then we need to move on

His players love him though and he's a good coach. I personally think Campbell should make the jump to the NFL. Also Campbell has the 28th ranked overall class... At Iowa state that's extremely impressive

yeah, he’s made for the NFL.

All you hear insiders ever say about Campbell is that he hates every aspect of college football except the “coaching” part. He doesn’t want these big jobs because he doesn’t want to be in a fishbowl environment that comes with it.

I guess USC can help with that. But really, if you don’t like being the figure head, you don’t like working rooms, and you don’t like recruiting, then the NFL is where you need to go.

The fact he's not built on what he's established there tells me he sucks at recruiting.
