Completely agree. It seems to me like Manny's sold them on a few points:
  • 5 out of the last 6 won.
  • Generational QB
  • A few plays away from 10-2
  • Young players will leave if he does
Despite the fact that:
  • Lost 6 out of last 8 before NC State
  • Generational QB only got a chance because King was injured
  • A few plays away from 4-8
  • Young players will leave the program regardless if they have a shot somewhere better

Agreed, what's further sad about it is that with TVD this team has a chance at being special if you get the right pieces in the next few years. What really gives me heartburn is that Manny will squander that talent and go 8-4 and then do the same thing that he's doing now... which is trying to sell a narrative of progress. It really frustrates me that they think fans are stupid enough to buy this narrative.
 
I want to give out a big FCK U to all the dumb azzes that kept saying Manny is done…root for the players. Don’t root for loses. Idiots…winning all those meaningless games is all the excuse these fat clueless azzholes on BOT needed to try to keep him as the coach. Unfcknreal

Manny has a MASSIVE ego. He genuinely believes that he can turn things around. That the fans can be held off just long enough to turn things around. He's bought his own hype twenty times over.

He is a politician, and he could sell a bag of sh*t with a U logo on it. I have no doubt that he's convinced people around the program that they're on the right track. The question is whether people like Frenk or Mas are convinced, as they seem to be driving this process.

I sincerely hope our bowl opponent beats us by 198 points, EVEN if it's UF.

They don't deserve our support. They've run this program into the ground. If Manny is retained next year will be the most toxic season any college football team has ever endured. I'd rather they shut the program down as opposed to continue to run it the way it's currently being run.

Not to quibble, but I'd say we were a few plays away from being 3-9. I'd also point out the lousy state of our 2022 recruiting class. There is just no rational reason Diaz should be retained beyond Wednesday, at the absolute latest.
 
We all know "insiders" like to drop "info" this time of year and who knows if it's real or not. But if Manny truly is safe and we campaigned for Flake James to fired only to find out the the people above him are just as incompetantant if not more.... I'm hearing Texas Tech AD and Manny getd another year. IM NOT AN INSIDER. I KNOW AS MUCH AS TOU DO but that is what I'm hearing. IF true folks will ***** and moan all off season then hype up Mannys coaching hires and be right back in the stadium rooting th team on. Maybe they aren't the problem we are. If you truly ****ed don't go to the games and force change.

We should have cleaned house a month ago and allowed new AD to be interviewing replacements NOW.

I truly hope I'm wrong. Good news as a canes fan good chance I'm loud wrong like we usually are.
