Accuracy of Tua and Lawrence

Lawrence is a future top 5 pic..a coach does little to help your accuracy. U either have it or u don’t

My cousin played witb lawrence in high school before i knew who he was i watched a quarter of their game in person and said this guy could play QB for the dolphins and he was a junior

I know that this has been discussed but watching this Clemson-South Carolina game, I am just amazed at the accuracy of Trevor Lawrence. Also watching Tua earlier, I am amazed at his accuracy as well. My issue with Rosier and Perry is that they are streaky in terms of accuracy. Looking the bubble screens that Clemson runs the ball placement by Lawrence is on right on the money. Too many times our QB ball placements is either to high or to low, or the receiver has to turn around catch it. I feel like Perry has had spurts accuracy but too many moments of over-throwing or under-throwing receivers. If Perry is going to be guy for us he has to be consistently accurate. If not then teams will defend him by keeping a spy on him and playing man on our receivers and force him to throw consistently into tight windows (which he has shown he can not do).

Accurate QB makes the difference. The number one thing Richt needs to look for next year in the QB competition is which QB is consistently accurate.

In today game he was hurt by drops, but even if those passes were caught he will still had thrown for only 50% not good.
True but those two aren't forced to rush most of their throws like ours have been.

Those QB's are coached the fu ck up and want to win!

Yeah its all coaching and desire to win and has little to do with the absurd talent of Tua and Lawrence.

Whitlock.webp

The one thing CMR said about JW after the spring game was that even though he didnt know the playbook he could hit who he was throwing at.

JW is our most accurate passer.

Put those qbs behind our oline see how good they'd be.I'm not saying they aren't good they are but they playing behind a better oline than we have.plus players around them are good too.

I watch football teams every Saturday with much less talent on the OL light up scoreboards. It's Rorcht and
Ask yourself when's the last time you seen one of those spread teams win a championship.and how they look when they actually played a decent defense. Those offenses do work to offset a weak oline against teams that equal until they face a good defense then it's like the wishbone dead in its tracks.

Uhhh..... Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, Oklahoma and even the Super Bowl last year. Both those teams played spread and air raid. The line up, beat the guy in front of you and pound the Rock died in the last decade. But Rorcht....

If Miami had Tua at QB we would be undefeated with Richt calling the plays. I believe in NKosi he’s just not there yet.

Nope. Mark would suspend him for at least one game for eating a sandwich wrong so we could lose one.

Bama,Clemson, oklahoma still have olines that can power run as well.you forget bama won it last 5 championships running the power run.this year they're running a power/spread combo and look unstoppable.I'm not a supporter of richts offense .

Not with our oline we wouldn't be..need tuas current oline as well.come to think of it need his receivers too.they seem to have the capacity to catch a football

...Accurate QB makes the difference...

Competent player development and coaching make accurate QBs.

Miami has neither on offense (except RB group). OL is pop warner, TE/ST coach doesn't have it. "Elite" WR group exposed as frauds.

Does anyone think Bama, Clemson, or ND go undefeated this year with Richt as their HC?

Serious question.

I honestly would put more faith in Ron Zook, Al Groh, or even Al Golden finishing with better records with those squads than Richt.

Nice guy, but he isn't who Miami needs leading the team.

Bentley is playing better than I expected as well.

Bentley is an interesting prospect. Improving all the time. No bargain if we face him in the bowl.

Kid has had something like 5 or 6 games against SEC competition this year with at least 8.5 YPA. He didn't look accurate last season when I attended the South Carolina/Arkansas game simultaneous to our game at Florida State. But Gamecock fans in the stands were telling me he was still green and the big plays were starting to show up.

Bentley skipped a year of high school so you would think he would be underaged, but that is not the case. He is now 21 as a true junior.

you realize ian book and kyler murray have better accuracy right? minshew as well. just saying.

Jarren is very close to Lawrence level with accuracy and arm strength ...anyone who watched the AA game could see it plain as day.

Yeah, right. All-star games are meaningless in evaluating QBs and players in general. The myth that Williams is somehow on a level at or near Lawrence continues to be spread on this board by self-proclaimed experts, all of whom like to mention the AA game. Wish it were true, but it's silly talk. As stated elsewhere, Lawrence will be a top 5 draft pick. Dude was playing in HS as an eighth grader at a program that annually plays for state titles. Williams was a late bloomer on a .500 HS team who we stole from Ky.

Lawrence stepped on the Clemson campus and grabbed the starting job from a senior QB - a player Miami later begged just for a weekend visit. Think Williams would have taken the starting job from Bryant at Clemson? No way in ****.

Or let's day dream a bit, do you think Lawrence may have sent Rosier and Perry to the bench? ****, yeah.

Lawrence was given reps immediately as a #2. Jarren was never given a chance at #4. You can say what you want but coaching has everything to do with it. And yes, I think Jarren is much more accurate than Bryant. Why do you think players so were ****ed UM was considering bringing in Bryant they complained publicly?

So, answer the basic questions. Do you think Williams would be starting now at Clemson & readying for a title run? Would Lawrence be starting for the Canes?

Point is, they're not comparable players.
