Accuracy of Tua and Lawrence

Great that Williams reminds some of a young Craig Erickson. Hope he turns out as well. But if not mistaken, Erickson didn't take starting job till junior year. So, hard to say Williams isn't being handled properly.

So, answer the basic questions. Do you think Williams would be starting now at Clemson & readying for a title run? Would Lawrence be starting for the Canes?

Point is, they're not comparable players.

Really, the only way to find out is to play Williams once and for all. Richt talked and talked about how much Rosier improved in the off-season but when the bullets started flying, Rosier was the same doofus we all knew from last season. Richt micromanages his QBs clearly as evidenced by this season. If they're too young or not vocal enough or show up late one time, you are in the doghouse. Williams should have gotten some burn in the Pitt game. Those are the facts. My fear is that this kid starts to believe that Perry is Richt's guy no matter what, and we never see what he can fully do here.

Jarren is very close to Lawrence level with accuracy and arm strength ...anyone who watched the AA game could see it plain as day.
Yet he couldn't beat out what we have... Either he isn't as good or staff is so incompetent, either way we are fvcked.

I truly believe the staff is on offense is completely incompetent. This is the first time in Richt’s career he has had to call plays without elite players and elite depth at every offensive position. FSU always had top 5 classes when he was there. Yet, he managed to score ZERO points against Oklahoma in the NC on what was arguably the most talented FSU team ever (still lost to UM.) Richt always had top 5ish classes at UGA, too. The guy has never been an innovator. He’s just called plays and they’ve worked because his players are so much better. Richt is now completely exposed as the offensive and QB corch he really is.
I completely agree we’re fvcked unless Richt does a complete offensive overhaul and gives up the OC reigns to someone with actual creativity.

The issue isn't about what kind of talent Richt had at FSU and UGA. Or about his having suspended Williams. Or Richt starting the season with Rosier, though obviously he didn't feel Williams was ready to take the job.

It's the goofy premise that Williams is on the same level as Lawrence. Let's just say he isn't and move on.

Maybe he's Craig Erickson, sits for a couple years and develops into a top-flight QB. Nothing wrong with that.
