ACCN - Comcast

Miami needs to either go independent like Notre Dame or join the SEC.

The ACC coastal is killing our brand and our national reach - that was Jimmy’s point and he’s dead on right.

Nobody cares about playing Pitt, Virginia, or Duke. Not even our own fans will show up for those games. Let alone asking sone random non-fan to tune in.

We need a better schedule point blank period
What makes you think we'd be playing top 25 teams every week? Let's take a look at the number of ranked teams these independent powerhouses played this year.

Army - #16 Wake Forest
Umass - #17 Coastal Carolina
Liberty - #16 Ole Miss
UConn - #24 Houston
New Mexico St - #2 Alabama
BYU - #21 Utah, #19 Arizona State
ND - #18 Wisconsin, #7 Cincinatti

By way of comparison, we played #1 Alabama, #18 NC State, #17 Pitt

But do go on about how we need to be independent.

not trying to be disagreeable but we have no leverage to get any kind of contract like that. we haven't won the acc since we have been there. no chance Miami could get a Notre Dame like or even a Notre Dame light type of deal.

You seem to be operating under the illusion that merit matters.

Merit doesn’t make a **** bit of difference. Will people tune in, that’s all that matters.

With all the networks starving for content these days, I 100% absolutely guarantee you Miami would get a contract if we could schedule interesting games.

Zero doubt

I have YouTube TV. I saw that. No ESPN or ABC. Will have to change service. The ESPN App doesn’t cover it all especially the ABC. Fvkkkkk!!!
I’m in the same boat, bruh. Leaving… wait, just read that ESPiN and ABC is back

Because we did it in the past. Did you watch the Jimmy Johnson interview? He speaks on this

Are conditions the same as back then? There's a reason everybody joined a conference.

When we move to a 12 team playoff, conditions will be more favorable for an independent than they ever have been.

Teams will have incentives to schedule difficult OOC games and the days of scheduling Bethune Cookmans are drawing to a close

But if we want to be in a conference, at least pick the best one and join the SEC

I agree that the ACC is the easiest path to the playoffs. In fact, it’s why Jimmy said we can be a playoff team.

But being in the ACC absolutely hurts recruiting. Look at our class vs Georgia and Alabama.

Fact is, the ACC is a dull conference and casual fans aren’t tuning in to see us play Duke yearly.

I’m glad we’re playing A&M this year. We need to schedule teams of that caliber 10 times per year, not once a year.
Coaching and record have hurt recruiting a lot more than our schedule.

I'm pretty sure that will involve us leaving the ACC that we're contractually obligated to and being invited to the SEC which will never happen if Florida has a say.

You seem to dwell in a world of make believe with every one of your outlandish ideas.

Did Texas A&M have a say about Texas getting invited?

Maybe you just think too small. I’m a managing director at one of the biggest banks on the planet, and I have an MBA from Yale. I’ve forgotten more about business than you’ll ever learn in your entire life.

The ACC ain’t it. The SEC payout is expected to be 4x that of the ACC once they renegotiate for Texas and OU. You think Miami is gonna stick around while the Gators make 4x the conference payout?

Think again. Contracts can be negotiated or renegotiated. We’re not bound to the ACC for life and if I had to bet, I would say we’ll be gone from that conference in 5 years. The money doesn’t make sense to stay.

Maybe I'm just realistic. You know jack**** about who I am, my education or what I do for a living, yet you profess to have forgotten more than I know. Has it ever occurred to you that I might be the retired CEO of a fortune 500 company with a Master's from MIT?

They had to renegotiate their “terms”. I’m pretty sure all those angry customers haulin *** to other streaming services, sped up negotiations as well, 🤣😂🤣
Lol - yep because people were bouncing and more were going to bounce.
